How Soto allowed to play (or Torres) in a game that started before they were called up?
  • igotid88igotid88 Posts: 27,968
So does that mean Soto's first homerun is actually this game?

Just caught the highlights. Funny that you could hear Cook yell "SHIT!" as soon as he hit it.

was just the second “walk-off” HR on an 0-2 count by a Yankee since 2000, joining Jason Giambi on 6/5/08 vs. Toronto (off B.J. Ryan)...was the Majors’ first “walk-off” HR on an count 0-2 since 4/30/17 (Arizona’s Daniel Descalso off Colorado’s Jordan Lyles)...tied Judge for the team lead in home runs (18).
Was his sixth career “walk-off” hit and fourth career “walk-off” home run...was first “walk-off” hit since a single on 8/19/14 vs. Texas and first
“walk-off” HR since 4/18/14 vs. Seattle (off Yoervis Medina).
His fourth-inning single had an exit velocity of 119.4 mph (per Statcast), the third-hardest-hit batted ball in the Majors this season.
His “walk-off” HR had an exit velocity of 117.9 mph and an estimated distance of 453 feet...according to Statcast, is the hardest-hit “walk-off”
home run since Statcast was introduced in 2015

Was that a good win?  That was a good win.

I have watched the Stanton shot maybe 20 times

    And Boston lost.

So this team is good...think I saw 41 and 13 since the 9-9 start and have beaten a lot of good playoff teams in the process. Loving this team and season but at the point that anything but a parade will be a disappointment

Ellsbury has played his last game for the yanks, right?
