Cashman should offer to eat half of Judge's salary and see what the Giants will trade for him. Team has about 17 holes on the 26-man roster.
Game was on MLB network last night. Could not believe the dogshit lineup the mighty NY Yankees were fielding. Torres' .263 BA was the highest in the lineup. (By 20 points!). 3 guys sub-Mendoza. At least Mike Stanton's 1-4 raised his average to .198.

As has been written repeatedly here on the topic as it relates to the Yankees: This is not anti-analytics or anti-sports and performance science. All teams use those things to varying degrees and any organization in 2023 dismissing them as useless is an organization guilty of dereliction of duty. Not using any and all information available is a recipe for failure.

So is overkill.

One example: Before every trip, the Yankees traveling party receive a “sleep guide,” complete with a suggested “bedtime” and “time to wake up.”

And that kind of smothering from the performance science crowd contributed at least in part to a much-derided decision on the just-completed trip West. The decision: Rather than the usual step of flying home after the conclusion of Wednesday’s game, which started at 4 p.m. Pacific time, they would wait until around noon Thursday (complete with an inconvenient hotel change Wednesday night) to depart.

Sleep guide make all the sense in the world.  Extending another day on the trip probably is a time where the rules need to be tweaked.

I can understand the sleep guide for trips etc but I've never heard any team not flying back from the West Coast on the same day, especially after a late afternoon local time game.

Yeah, that seems to take it too far, agree

Sleep guide, in general, should be pushed on athletes.  (People, in general, but especially people who are athletic.)
Sure some of these folks have great habits, some less so.
