HAHAHHA. Ellsbury is not in camp because of a different injury, not his hip.  He is never coming back, obviously.

Yeah man. $10 a year is tough for New York when that’s the price of a coffee. He’s gonna struggle

inguess cashman said that now that they got under the tax they’re  more open to them? Idk.

Very similar deal. Wonder what they had been talking about before and how that impacted, but yeah

It's a decent deal in today's climate but it was only four years ago Jeff Samardzija got five years at 90. I think these types of deals will start becoming the norm. Already there have been five contract extensions for players either approaching or a year away from their arbitration years: Severino, Aaron Nola, Whit Merrifield, Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler.

Welp, that is disappointing, though it has been clear for a long time.  They better be betting right on Andujar

Though, I could be wrong again, but have a real tough time seeing Arenado sign an extension now.

The Padres could be real good for a long time.  Their system is stacked, though they have a couple rough contracts already for the next few years.  Need pitching and look out.

    feels like Giancarlo 2.0

break the Bank, then realize down the line you can’t justify that $, when there’s 5k people in the stands

hope im wrong, Petco situated nicely in San Diego.... if I was a ball player that’s not a terrible place to be

Pretty much guarantees he'll be a Yankee or some other team in 3 years with the Padres paying half
