Creed on Conan O'Brien last night

There has been some Creed bashing on PJ forums mainly because Scott Stap seemed to rip off Eddies voice. That is the only real relevance this post has for me putting it on a PJ forum. Thought I would share this performance with all of you. Seems as if they have moved from ripping off PJ to ripping of I dunno Puddle of Mudd or someone like that. That said, probably the worst performance I have seen by any band in any genre.

Thoughts and comments much appreciated, however if you like Creed you may not like this thread.

Oh and you'll need to scroll down to the end of the video unless you feel like watching the whole episode.

My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12

That was painful...it is like Stapp is doing an overbearing poor imitation of himself.

Haha, they were playing here in Irvine the night PJ was playing night one at the Gibson.. I was so torn between the two I didn't make it to either show...

Exactly what I thought. He went from doing an over the top Eddie Vedder imitation, to doing an over the top Scott Stapp imitation.

I watched the episode (for Conan's comedic value and DEFINITELY not to see creed) and me and my roommate were laughing hysterically at creed's performance. It was absolutely terrible. Yet Stapp still had his boyband-like stage presence and they all managed to fist bump after the song thinking it went well...well i dunno if they heard what i did, but it was complete garbage. Might be an indication of why their ticket prices fell to 75 cents.
  • i don't give a fuck what anyone says...Torn is a really good song...I'm not a fucking Creed fan...but that song is the shit...in fact...i could see Ed covering it! it's that worthy!

    never heard it?

it's off their first album...find it and listen before you talk shit!

woah! that was bad. very bad. we just bumped their ratings too :o:o:o

at least watching SS give his guitarist a "Fisty" was pretty hilarious and almost made it worth the 1.5 mins wasted watching this. I can't believe he started rapping in the mid of the song too.

    damn the curiousity!

Bashing on Creed is sooooo newwwww. You people crack me up! Creed sounds like Pearl Jam????? Where do you all come up with this? So hilarious. You should really do stand up comedy sometime. Creed ripping off Pearl Jam....what timely humor! Lot of talent in this thread.

Creed was more successful in their profession than you all dream to be in yours. Make fun of to feel better about yourselves.

I agree. I liked the first Creed album when it was first pushed on the radio in 97. I was 15 and liked 4-5 songs off that album. I think what drew me to them was the guitar player Mark Tremonti. This guy is unbelievable. Realized real quick though that Scott Stapps doucheness overshadowed the real talent of the band. I even rooted for Fred Durst to beat the shit out of him when they had that little fued in the late 90's. That's how bad I hate Scott Stapp. Moved away from Creed soon after and was real happy when Alterbridge formed. Tremonti is still one of the best guitarists, too bad he's wasting his talents playing with that talentless fuck Scott Stapp.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

Watching Scott Stapp perform is like watching a pig wallowing in its own shit.

you know what? creed bashing still is fun after all these years. good wednesday night entertainment. that Creed Shreds video bigeye21 posted hasn't gotten old yet.

so i listened to this new song. it's pretty silly. gotta love the faces. listen closely to Stapp at the very end of the song... am I the only one who hears "I may be creepy when I'm dumpin in my underweareaaah!" ?? :wtf:
  • vocals dominate the mix, scott stapp's baritone is unnaturally deep, and his manuerisms are cliched as well.

Was it the lighting or was his hair a shade of grey?

  • Vocals started out shaky, but Stapp recovered. He's still not his old self though vocally. Great performance from the rest of the guys though. Can't deny the energy they put on display.

  • The most remarkable thing to me is that I could not understand a single thing The Gnarler was singing. Not one word. Other than that it was generic and inoffensive.
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

  • can't believe tremonti, marshall and phillips went back to making generic shit music as creed and ditched myles kennedy for that asshole vedder wannabe scott stapp. the sooner they collect their $$$ and get back to alter bridge the better. i would be pissed off if i was myles kennedy to be honest, cos that guy has more talent than stapp could dream of, and alter bridge are so much better than creed, yet the rest of the band went back for the $$$.

I know, it's sickening, They're lucky he hasn't just said 'fuck you' and ended AB himself. The only good thing to come out of the Creed reunion, is the forthcoming Myles Kennedy solo album.
