Before my grandfather passed away in April he gave me a timeshare vacation as a wedding gift. In the past few months I have become separated from the wife and am looking for a fun cool place that I can travel by myself. I can pretty much travel anywhere in the world. So, where should I go?

Tahiti, Cabo, Hawaii, Australia (when are those tour dates?) Any other ideas? :)

Interests include sightseeing, pubs, beaches, golf. Im pretty open and will do almost anything.

I can break it down to Hawaii or Australia. I'd love to go to either of those places.

You'd probably really like Australia - that might be more fun for a guy traveling alone

Lots of choices...just go with what interests you...regardless you'll have a hell of an adventure. Myself, I'd choose Australia...been to hawaii and it's beautiful...but Australia is on the lsit of places I must go.

i think it depends on budgetary restrictions.

sure you have a place to stay in all those places, but you would have to factor in travel/entertainment costs.

if it really isnt an issue...i say australia.

otherwise, hawaii. might be a good time for reflection and figuring out where you go next (in your life)...for me, nothing is better for that than a gorgeous beach and turquoise water.

New Zealand (South Island) gets my vote! It's the only place in the world that I might consider emigrating to :D Australia is my second choice and Hawaii is my third. Wherever you choose to go, I hope that you have a wonderful time to regroup and refocus.

P.S. Sorry to hear about your separation.

I watched the Anthony Bourdain No Reservations episode in Chile, and Patagonia seems to be paradise.

Will see if I agree with you about New Zealand after next month.

Why no love for Europe (wait until the summer though)? Some of the most magnificent cities in the world and some stunning scenery and culture. We in Europe have history.

    new jersey?

    "That's a lovely accent you have...New Jersey?" 8-)

I'd be partial to go to Japan and stay in the countryside. It's cliche, but I also want to go to Italy very badly. Great Britain has always interested me too...
