I still think they made a mistake not targeting either Amongst the Waves or Unthought Known to be one of their radio tracks.

  • I love Just Breathe, but I don't see the radio appeal as much. Would agree Amongst the Waves should be the next single.

    Chicks, man, chicks.
  • Out in the L.A. area, Just Breathe has been in heavy rotation for a couple of weeks on at least two of the radio stations I listen to regularly.
If I knew where it was, I would take you there.

This will be interesting to follow.

You can add me to the list of people that don't see Just Breathe as a big radio hit, but I would love to be proved wrong.

it's hard to say what will be a hit or not. There's a lot of songs I thought would do great. And didn't.

Yeah, it's #31 right now on 'rock songs' chart. I love the song, but like ATW and Unthought Known better as singles. But if this was being played by a lot of stations before it was even officially released, I guess you have to go with it.

I think "Force of Nature" could be a hit too. There are just so many potential singles on this album. Great record.

Ya usually if a song is already getting heavy airplay before it is officially released, that is pretty good indication that it will do very well. Just released today and it has already been on the charts for 2 weeks! Expect a huge jump in the charts next week.

  • i personally dislike ATW (Unthought Known and Force of Nature would be bad singles!), but it seems weird that they would make such a radio friendly PJ sounding song and then not release it as a single.

but then this is the band that though NAIS, Who You Are, and The Fixer were the best lead singles.

Just Breathe is a great single. the chicks i've played it to dig it. i dig it. it will do alright.
  • I think Just Breathe is a great release.

I don't think they missed anything by not releasing AMV or UK. Both awesome songs....but just Breathe is so versatile and can be played accross multiple formats

I love Just Breathe, but I don't see the radio appeal as much.

It's #1 most-requested and #3 most-played at KROQ Los Angeles, a rock station with a very large audience.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Yeah I've heard it for a few weeks now on one station (97.3) in Denver. Its more of a "mellow" station. They have never played much Pearl Jam, just Daughter. ITW is played a lot too.
If I had known then what I know now...

    Agreed. Both are amazing.

I wouldn't have believed you until I went there and saw it for myself. I would have thought it to be too mellow for KROQ. Nice to see. KROQ has a huge audience.

Yeah, I’ve been hearing it on the world famous KROQ just about everyday to and from work. They also put on the weenie roast in my backyard venue every summer so props to them on both accounts..haha, it is pretty mellow for them tho..

  • I like Just Breathe as a single...they haven't released anything close to this time of song as single in a looong time.

I think Unthought Known will kick radio ass as well.

am I the only one that is amazed that that shittastic Alice in Chains song is STILL #1?

I swear they sound like a parody of themselves

Too mellow for KROQ? A while back, I made the comparison of "Just Breathe" to "Hey There Delilah," which was played incessantly for months on KROQ (and became a major pop hit). KROQ is also gave a lot of airplay to The Fray's "Heartless," another song in the same vein in terms of tempo and vibe.
