I got the flu while in Cali for the shows. Tested Pos. for flu A and B, she didnt even bother to test me for H1N1 but said there was a really good chance i had it. I was 5 days into it so thats why she didnt bother to test for it.
prepare for a rough week, and being super tired the week after.

having the baby around it would scare me though. maybe let a realitive watch the baby while you recover ? if that is an option.

good luck. hope all goes well.
    Peace, Love.

My 10 yr old had it a few weeks ago. Dr gave everyone in the house a prescription for Tamiflu. It not only knocked the flu out of my son, but the rest of us didn't get so much as a sniffle. It was expensive, but worth every penny. Maybe you could ask about that?
I smile, but who am I kidding...

I was around my best friend and her sister 2 days before she came down with the symptoms of it. That is the contagious time. They both have been very, very sick. I have been expecting to get it and so far I am fine.
Its been about 10 days ago that I was with them. She is still very ill.
By the way, she got the regular flu shot, as did I, but the H1N1 flu shot has just arrived in our area and its at specific location where people are standing in lines that circle around the building. They say its a several hours wait and only those who are most prone to get it, or they are in bad health and this flu can be deadly for them, can get the shot. I don't know how they can stand in these long lines when they are old, sick, etc. Plus, its been cold and rainy almost every day.

if they don't get H1N1 they'll probably get pneumonia from standing in line so long.

Hubby and I had it when we were in the States last month...It hits you so suddenly with a violent headache and huge fever and chills and your muscles feel like you ran a marathon....I killed it off with mega mega vitamis, tylenol, advil, dramamine, and hot tea. I also take antidepressants so I doubled those and put myself in a coma! Literally, I got this sick feeling between the parking lot and checking into our hotel. And it was pretty much the worse I'd ever felt with the flu...it was the sudden onset that freaked me out...

I think I had it last week.. I think I got by with just the mild effects of cold. Sore throat, conjestion. I've heard in best cases it has only this effect. I hope this was the case. I know people who've been really sick for weeks.

    Same.
Cough and nose problems gone (or going), but headaches and body aches are still kickin.
  • well my wife's fever broke this morning. She still can barely breathe though. Hopefully we can get our baby boy tonight... I miss the lil man.

for those who contract this flu or any flu for that matter - be weary of getting a bacterial infection ... your immune system is weak and the risk of infection is higher ... often people die from the infection that is not picked up ... if you have the flu and you are starting to get better and then you regress again - chances are you have an infection ...

i am no medical doctor nor in the health services field - i'm just reiterating a piece i heard on cbc from some doctors ...

Despite the doom and gloom and all the reports of schools closing, I still have yet to meet or hear of anyone I know actually getting it.

My daughter had it. Got over it about three weeks ago. It was like a case of regular flu. Ran fever for 3 or 4 days. Sore throat and achy body. Missed a few days of school. Took Tamiflu and recovered nicely. She's 8.
