The 3 nights earlier PJ did play songs they hardly/never played before. To me it made each night special. On the down side not everyone knew the songs....so the energy kinda dropped a little. Combined that with acoustic set to me i felt the concert slowed down at times. Don't get me wrong they were all great nights very high energy. The final night PJ played mostly all the hits with the rarest of rare. Therefore it was so powerful to the end.....great setlist no energy drop the whole night.
Maybe someone else can understand what I am trying to say......but it was simply unreal.

words can't describe

  • I completely agree. Every song they played was great. Even the rare songs that not a lot of people knew still got a good response from the crowd. Overall that was a phenomenal show that blew my mind.

The first set was a classic PJ concert that delivered everything anyone should have expected.

The anticipation for what was coming next had a weird energy going around in the building (that and the spreading news of the Yankee comeback across the street). Just Breathe, The End, Low Light and Speed of Sound really subdued the crowd, but they came back strong for Jeremy. Inside Job lowered the energy again and no one really knew what to make of Bugs. But by the time Porch started the crowd was 100% back and Eddie even stopped trying to play the open and just gave it over to the crowd, which was amazing.

The second encore was more of the same. Whip It was funny, but the Jeff's bass dropped out in the open of Got Some and that confused everyone. Later on, Sweet Lew was a cool surprise for the hardcore fans, but no one else really knew what to make of it. Evolution whipped everyone up again and the crowd stayed red hot til the end of the show, despite being over 35 songs in. That is a testament to what the band is capable of doing.

I'd say the show was a bit of an experiment from Bugs through Sweet Lew, and even though it didn't work the whole time, it was amazing to be a part of. That coupled with the REALLY slow start to the first encore made the energy dip noticeably but I don't think it hurt the show as a whole, looking at the concert in it's entirety.
I suggest you step out on your porch...run away my son...see it all...oh see the world // I wait on the porch...hoping someday I'll be let in
