How the heck can I get front row seats?! I've been a TC member for 11 years and I always get row 20 or 30! I am always reading about others having the best show of their lives sitting in the front row!

Front 2 rows are usually reserved for the lottery as well as 9 and 10. ultra senior members get 3rd row etc. Funny thing is I have heard of people going on Ticketmaster and choosing 1 ticket and getting 1st or 2nd row. So makes me wonder if the entire first row is for fan club or are some tix available to the general public?

since 10c sells tix in pairs, if a row has an uneven number of seats there will be singles available that ticketmaster will sell

    the answer is very simple:

forget the lottery and get yourself a ticket to Europe next time they're touring the old continent - with a little patience and speed you'll make it to the front row - guaranteed! ;)
  • What's worse not being able to or seeing people sitting down in the first row, last night in philly I saw a few people sit for a stretch of about 4 songs......

Problem with front row is that the sound is usually shit.. It is much better 20-30 rows back and that is where I prefer to be.. Sound over view is my preference.

that is not true, at least in my experience

it is not as loud up front, but the stage sound is usually better than the venue PA

But how are you suppose to catch a pick if you're 20-30 rows back? This post makes no sense to me :?
Seriously though, the whole assigned seats deal is a pain in the ass. Can't wait for the euro tour to come along.

  • I don't really care where I sit as long as I feel like I'm watching a band rather than the house PA speakers.

Well, first of all I dont go to a pj show to catch a pick. But to answer your question, Mike managed to send one flying about 30 meters from his spot on the stage right into my mouth in Nijmegen two years ago. So it is possible ;)

I have been front row 3 times and all though it has been different experiences I find the sound much clearer a bit further back. The rockers can become muffled front and it can be difficult to seperate the guitars, mainly because of eddies dominant guitar sound + you have most of the crowd behind you overdubbing the music by cheering and singing. The most enjoyable first row show for me was perth 03, mainly because the crowd was quite quiet. Here you could actuallt hear the stage sound. In Europe you would want to step back to get the sound right IMO.

Know what you mean about pick catching. I was 15 rows from the front last Ten Club show I went to. Spent much of the show trying to attract Mike's attention, only to see picks being thrown up willy nilly to those up closer to the front than I. Never had such a bruised hand from clapping so much before. I only want one measly pick and there's hundreds of people around with 15 or more, fuckin' sucks you know! :x
  • And now as I look at all the people that have replied back to my post, some of you have only been a Tenclub member for a handfull amount of years and have been in the front!! And here I am, an 11 year old member, begging for front row!
  • I've been in the Ten Club for about a year been to 2 shows and I've never gotten front row! Even with a 424, xxx.
Fuckin ridiculous! Thanks alot 10 club, you suck

This is probably the worst place on the interweb to say this, but I've been to the front twice without being a 10c member... sometimes it's just about luck I guess.

Come to Perth I was lucky! enough to get front row in 03' and 06' but...on the downside not as many shows out this way compared to the US :)

Sometimes the band's friends are given front row; I congratulated the guys next to me for winning and they looked at me cross-eyed. After a setlist was handed to one of them at the end of the show, he then told me that he was friends with a couple of the band members and usually sits on stage or 3rd row, but prefers the 1st. Cry me a river. Can't these "friends" just sit on stage or in the 3rd row, and leave the lottery seats open for potential winners?
