Awesome show. Last night's was number 20 from me (dating back to 1992) and this was easily in the top 3. For those who seem to think the crowd lacked, they must have been paying attention to all the non-Philly people in the venue. Contrary to what some have posted on here, the crowd last night rocked.
As far as the setlist: Bugs?? I'm Open?? Sweet Lew?? Who ever thought we would get to hear these played?!?
Can't believe Eddie's voice made it through 3 1/2 hours and still sounded strong. Awesome job, guys!
Thank you Pearl Jam and the 10 Club for 4 of the most memorable nights !!!
Seats were great and the band delivered. I just don't get those that were disappointed. There were those that were distracted again by the Phillies but band gave it there all !!
A 3 1/2 hour show is unbelieveable for a band that puts so much energy into there shows. Eddie was spent he gave it his all and there is no way anyone could have asked for more. At one point during Porch his microphone hit the front of his mouth and he was in pain. I think he was bleeding little and then he had ice on it. But he kept on going after that but you could tell he was in pain a little and exhausted. I was in complete awk of the entire band for putting so much into these shows.
I heard all of the rumors about this show and I was so glad that it ended up being only PJ all night ---- They completely deserved to close the Spectrum all on there own and they did an awesome job.
They are a one of the greatest bands ever and I am so glad that I have been a fan for such a long time and experience all of this !!!
SWEET LEW!!!!! Sung by my favorite member of PJ! I love Heff and how animated he was this tour!!! (Bee Firl night one was cool too!) What to say? I was surprised as hell that Bruce wasn't there, but really didn't care one bit. More PJ for me!!! Coming out as Devo & singing Whip It was hilarious and very unexpected. Still have that song in my head. Crown of Thorns, SMILE!!!, and although I always skip Bugs, it was neat seeing it live and Eddie kicked ass.
Ended up in section 201. Thanks 2 the 2 nice guys from Boston who let me stand in front of them so I could see. Our section was rocking and it lookd like the whole place was. I swear I could feel the flooor moving! I don't think the crowd was lame at all. My friend who sat up in 307 said looking down (straight on the stage) he never saw a crowd like that - ever! They were rocking! People need to be concerned with the band and not the idiots around them. I think PJ was really into the crowd and the whole nostalgia of it all. The balloons ans confetti were blinding at the end. Great job on closing a great venue that was made for rock and roll (just not the restrooms- they need many more!)
Am so happy that I was a part of these 4 shows! You could have seated me on the roof and I still would be one happy camper! THANKS PEARL JAM!!!!! (and 10c too)
"I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me. Guaranteed."

Once again Ty and after this week u guys have once again proved to everyone why PEARL JAM IS THE GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD.
I am still amazed from last night. After shows 1-3, I was going to be thrilled if the guys just showed up- it has been that good! I was so happy that they had some repeats as well- I love the rarities, good god, Jeff on Sweet Lew !! in his Phila jersey with Ed spinning the bball had me in utter awe- but the "classics" just rip, rock and are feel good loud. PJ worked their arses off and the results were magic!
and Crown of Thorns was beautiful...

I liked hearing High Hopes on the way out. I'm not a Philly guy, but I've always liked the song and can appreciate its meaning to the Phillies fans.

This was my 7th PJ show (sec. 204), and was the best one I've seen since March 1994 in Ann Arbor. The highlights for me were Whip It, I Got Shit, Porch, Why Go, and Smile. I was happy they played Bugs too, and even happier about some of the repeats because I missed Nights 1-3 at the Spectrum.
As for the crowd, I think the criticisms are overblown. I just think that everyone was pacing themselves for what would be a long night. There's no need to chant for an "encore" when the show isn't even half over yet. Also, maybe the Enya-like preshow music (between Bad Religion and the Spectrum video) got everyone into a mellower mood.
Thank you Pearl Jam!

What a run of shows! Speaking specifically of show 4.... it was intense. I came in telling myself that there would be no special guests and the show would end at 11:30. That mindset made the extended show much better.
section 210. Not great seats, but cant really complain about them either. The section was pretty good. Dont know why all this hate for the crowd, I thought it was a great crowd.
Bugs was awesome as was Sweet Lew. Loved the basketball and Eddie bombing it into the crowd. He almost made it halfway through the floor with that. The confetti and balloons during RITFW were epic.
Some great highlights from the setlist were Glorified G, Smile, and Insignificance. I really think highly of Johnny Guitar live. Whip It was a great treat.
Awesome show. It ranks a close #2 for me beneath Buffalo 03.
This really was the perfect way to close out the building. The guys pulled out ALL the stops (and I do mean ALL the stops). Eddie was really a trooper too. He hurt himself pretty bad at the beginning of Porch when he smashed his face into the microphone stand on the first word of the song and gutted it out (with the help of some singing). But he was bleeding and was holding his mouth/getting ice (or soemthing) form a fan during any moment he could during that song.
But I'll say this also: There's a select group of shows in the Pantheon of Legendary Pearl Jam shows (Randalls Island, State College, MSG, Philly 05, SD 06, Gorge, Mansfield III, SD 06, Grand Rapids, just a few more)
The guys put an incredible amount of effort into making this a legendary show. And it was. It was a tremendous spectacle. The balloons, the streamers, the costumes, the rarities, the first time played, the length. Incredible.
But Philly III the night before required no effort to be legendary. That was just perfection all around from the fans, the band, the set list, everything.
Tonight was a legendary Pearl Jam event. The night before was a legendary Pearl Jam concert. Had to be there both days to believe it!

Not as good as Friday night; setlist was kind of boring and repetitive, but the energy in the building was unreal and Whip It was worth the price of admission. I love how Jeff even had the cheesy 80s bass. Also loved how Jeff put on the old school headband for the end. Wonderful band and unmatched by anyone ever.

This was probably one of the best nights of my life.
I went to 3 of the 4 shows, and I think Friday was the best. Shit. I think Friday is the best PJ I've been to.
However, this show was just insane.
The Spectrum was the first place where I saw a concert, RHCP in 1996. And, I went with my little bro last night. As kids we went to Spectrum a lot. Everything from the circus to Disney on ice to WWF events to Sixers games. There's really no one else I would have wanted to go with. And seeing my favorite band close out the Spectrum was just something that words can't explain.
If there was anything wrong with the show it would be how overhyped it was, and of course, the Phils games. But, I'll probably never be next to Citizens Bank during a World Series game again, so I'll take it.
For every repeat or hit, there was just so much other material to make up for it.
Bugs, Sweet Lew and Out of My Mind!!!
Did anyone ever think that they would play Out of My Mind?!?
For all the shows I've been to, I've always wanted to see Smile and i Got Shit, and I got them both last night.
I always love hearing Insignificance, Inside Job and Satan's Bed live.
The Devo costumes were hilarious. Plus they did an awesome job on Whip It. I think it was funny that they played Got Some after that. Because weren't there people that thought Got Some sounded like a Devo song?
I also loved the banter between Eddie and Mike about the whole KISS thing, where Eddie pointed out someone that dressed up like Gene Simmons and said that it looked like Mike's mom. Then it evolved into Mike saying that his mom slept with Eddie's mom in KISS make-up and Eddie replied that it could happen because their mom's get along. It sounded like something my friends and I would say to each other.
I think YL was the best choice as closer, especially with the Star Spangled Banner. I saw the rest of the band hugging each other as Mike was tearing it up. It seems to me that these guys aren't just a band, but a family. Sounds tacky, but that's why they're still around.
A great personal experience for me. There was no better way for me to close out the Spectrum than last night.
They may never read this, but a million thanks to the band for sending off the Spectrum in such a rocking and classy way.
I can't imagine anything topping this...ever!!! So much thought went into this show - it was beyond special! Really enjoyed Inside Job, Rats, Sweet Lew, Out of my Mind, Glorified G, I Got Shit, Satans Bed - the list goes on! AND they played BUGS for us??!! I can't believe they actually played it!
Whip It was extremely fun And RITFW with confetti - AMAZING!!!!! The feeling of the whole night - UNBELIEVABLY, UNDENIABLY the BEST show I have EVER seen!!!! They even recognized Harry Kalas - the exit music was High Hopes.
Pearl Jam, you must really love us - every last detail was planned perfectly!! We Love you and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!
Loved the show! It was awesome. And I think the crowd was fine (it was a long night..I'm sure people were pacing themselves!)
I teared up during "Just Breathe."
The rarities "Sweet Lew" and "Bugs" were awesome (my long-time fan husband was very happy)! I was just really hoping they'd play "Dirty Frank!" ..love that song. And, of course, it was fun singing along to "Daughter," "Jeremy," and "Even Flow."
I loved "Rockin in the Free World" towards the end (and balloons and confetti made it memorable). I was at the show on Tuesday and loved that they ended with it then too. I sang it all the way home.
I was sort of hoping for a couple guests..but I guess it would change the dynamic of the show.
Fantastic concert. Great to hear a number of rarities. An incredible performance that was another testament to Pearl Jam's endurance and ability to always amaze. Really looking forward to the bootleg and next series of East Coast tour dates.
Amazing !!!! I've seen 22 PJ ahows & 3 Eddie solo Shows. If I had to rank them top 5...
Sept 13th 1995 w/ the Ramones (no words can describe my first show)
Eddie solo @ NJPAC (his finest solo show & the introduction and first performance of Unthought Known)
Friday @ the Spectrum (never have I seen a more intense show)
Eddie solo in Albany (I sat front row & got to shake Eddie's hand)
Saturday @ the Spectrum (what can I say.. they did the Spectrum proud)
Incredible show. The people complaining about the crowd are just being tools and most likely have an agenda or are jealous that the show wasn't in their town. The crowd was ballistic from the 1st note. Great great night.
The only problem I had with the show last night, is that every show that I go to will never be able to live up to it. That was an amazing show. Thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible.
