Yeah, I understand that -- I'm not totally heartless....but are you saying you wouldn't palm her off to a friend or a grandparent to take her trick or treating and you go see Pearl Jam? I would. I wouldn't go if they had to stay home and miss out totally.....but if I could get around it, i'd be off to Pearl Jam no doubt about it.

What if your child is crying because he/she wants to go trick or treating with you...not grammy or an uncle..but you?

Honestly....this isn't the forum for you to stick out your dicks and measure up who's a better parent or dad, or what ever. This is about the Philly show.

I am having trouble leaving this`one alone, but probably for the best given my track record tonight. :P

It was funny. I love message boards when people just let it fly.

    Get a life?

haha, miss crucial times in a childs life.

I have a 3 year old, and I would have went to Philly night 4 in a heartbeat. It's friggin trick or treatin'

3 year old as well, but due to work and horrific traffic when halloween falls on a weekday. I barely make it home in time for any of it. I would have loved to have gone tonight as well, but the early stages of your child's life go by WAY too fast. Enjoy every minute of it and buy the bootleg.
I'll scream my lungs out until I fill this thread.

Pearl Jam could be playing in my fucking living room, and I wouldn't give up the time with my kids to see them. It's not about whether I, as a parent, enjoy Halloween or whatever event it is, it's the importance it has to my kids, and believe it or not, kids want you to be a part of the things they enjoy doing.

Unless things get really crazy in the next hour or so, I'd definitely take last night's setlist over tonights. Bugs, Sweet Lew, and Whip It are cool because of their rareness but musically they suck. Crown of Thorns and Smile are awesome and Out of My mind falls somewhere in between.

You explain to your kid you have something you need to do - and he can go trick or treating with grammy or an uncle, or not go at all...Life ain't fair - and daddy had a life before kids came along... ;) I'm heartless, but that's how I was raised and I can't recall being traumatized by knowing my parents had a life besides me..

But it's just Halloween.......is it that big of a deal over there? I don't understand it....at all...

Halloween is a popular American holiday intended for children (or the child inside).

This show is also the last ever concert in a famous venue.

We've been trying to say since these shows were announced that they were gonna be a big deal. Some people are just finally realizing this.

I'm actually the best parent on here. just sayin.

I'm going to be a parent in less than 2 weeks, otherwise I'd be in Philly right now too!!

The Pearl Jam priority changed big time for me on this tour.

i think the point e1 is trying to make is that it is important to the kids....and thats what matters....

It IS important to the kids. They really love to dress up and go and collect the candy. It ranks up with Christmas on the important holidays for children scale!!
