My Front Row Experience

Warning this is going to be long, but hell I won front row, no words can explain that!
Wow.. just wow. Where to begin. After seriously being near tears for about an hour after getting front row tickets, I checked into my new hotel(switched hotels for a pj rate.) I proceeded to eat/call everyone I knew.. Some didn’t care others excitement only made mine that much higher. I met up with fans at the pre-party telling everyone my surreal story of getting front row.. I just thought it could never happen.
It was awesome to have everyone’s level of excitement and joy for me raise my own. I was the first one to be anywhere near the front row after doors opened, I just walked up and down the front row and all around. It was unbelievable; words can’t describe how it feels to be front row and looking back at the whole arena.
Bad Religion threw down a sweet set, but nothing could prepare me for what was about to come. When the lights went off and PJ arrived on set it was amazing! There I was standing directly in front of Mike. The facial expressions and audience participation he leads are just phenomenal, I don’t know how it’s possible to stand still there. The setlist was just crazy, but you all know that already, it was just incredible. Guitar picks flying, pointing, jumping, eye contact, just unreal. I am serious that every true fan should experience this at least once. The show went by in a flash, when I’m in my normal seats I can feel that they are playing a long set, but in front row it’s over as fast as it began. Covered in sweat, nothing mattered, that was the greatest show of my life. But wait there’s more!!
Back in June, I met Ed 2 nights in a row after the solo shows in Baltimore.. We talked about my unemployment(also an amazing experience) and I was able to tell him how much the music meant to me. Well he FUCKING REMEMBERED ME!!! If you saw him throw a lighter during Crazy Mary, that was to me! Seriously just wow! I scored some picks from a generous mike and Ed’s lighter.. which btw is the same lighter he sells at the solo shows.
Overall that was the greatest fucking day of my life thus far, seriously thank you 10C and pearl jam, without you the show experience would not be the same.
A few side notes on the negative end.. The guy next to me snuck in to front row, knew no lyrics and made phone calls during the show. I finally got him ejected around the end of the first encore.. However his replacement was no better, some guy and his gf came in right when he was ejected. Well those two were also trying to sneak in a friend and I had tons of event staff around me arguing with them while I was doing a lot of jumping around. Who the fuck shows up to front row at the end of a set anyways? Then this dude puts his back to the fence and starts texting people.. no joke, he even had a PJ Canada tour shirt on.. Fortunately all this did not stop me from having the time of my life.. But perhaps security on the side of front row really should be a little tighter.
Pictures and video will be coming!
