My message to Mary Hart:

"Mary Hart, I'm really sure you read the pearl jam board (sarcasm)

I have always liked you but after last night, you are awful, announcing that Chastity (now Chaz Bono) had his breasts surgically removed. That's one thing....but to persist and ask if him if there more surgery or surgeries planned, is tasteless. As for Chaz Bono's response, he has alot more class than you do."

Thanks for letting me vent here.

Chaz Bono nicely replied that that's personal and he does not feel comfortable discussing below the waist surgery.

She/he had her tits removed to become a man. I don't see a problem with her/him being asked about further surgeries.

    What a fucked up individual............

What's the difference between that and getting "tucked in" to become a woman?
What people wanna do to themselves is their business. As long as they aren't hurting anyone else, men can become women and women men for all I care, doesn't mean they have to share every detail upon being asked.

    I agree.
But if you agree to do an interview on Entertainment Tonight, you should probably be prepared to answer some "tasteless" questions. It's not exactly the most respected news outlet out there...

and to that I agree... its just to say that someone is a fucked up individual and therefore is obligated to answer such questions is kind of cruel. :|

  • I get your point but this person agreed to the interview, therefore the interviewer can ask and the interviewee can decline to reply.

Whether it is tasteless or not is not part of the process, especially on that sort of programming.

And yes I watched it and was thinking aww she does seem more comfy after or during this transition, good for her.

sooo I'm not too thrilled about this new album :(

Yeah- I missed that part. I totally agree.
Not being a member of the transgendered/transsexual community, I really don't have any frame of reference for what someone in his position is going through, so I try not to be too judgmental.
That being said though, if he wanted to go through his transition in private and on his own terms, he shouldn't be doing interviews with shows like Entertainment Tonight. (I think there are definitely positive things that can come from people like Bono sharing their stories- mostly for people like me who are ignorant about that kind of identity struggle- but Entertainment Tonight is not the right place.
I think all those entertainment industry gossip shows and magazines that try to pass themselves off legitimate journalism are trash.

Consider this: Maybe Chastity was already born with the male parts. Mary Hart would have choked if he revealed that.

I saw a transgender person on oprah once and I was completely confused and had to do a little internet reading.
maybe mary hart should have too.

but I see what you are saying, if a celebrity's daughter puts their business out there, they could be subject to just about anything in an agreed to interview.

The Rolling Stone thing was different, RS agreed to put the whole band on the cover, But most importantly RS portrays itself to be knowledgeable about the musicians and should know that PJ considers themselves a band and that no individual is bigger than the band, they are not U2 or The Rolling Stones.
