1973 Mayor Lindsey didn’t approve a ticket tape parade it was done in different route! Didn’t want businesses to have to close or disrupted! I looked it up population for the 5 boroughs was 7 + million today it’s at 8.5 I believe I thought it would have been more.

5am train was packed per my friend… he said he’s never seen that many going to an actual job… that if they showed 10% of that they’d be more successful 😆

don't remember what they did in 1983 but the Eagles and Phillies have done up to 5 miles. The Eagles started at the stadium areas through downtown and ended up at the Art Museum/Parkway area (Where PJ played Made in America). That area itself can hold hundreds of thousands of people as it's pretty wide and open. so yea much better than a 1 mile area in the middle of the city that NY did. Hell Jalen Brunson's head takes up a 10th of that area

Poor planning by the city. They had to know such a large turnout was going to happen. I feel bad for those that got stuck in a subway station. that sounds like hell to me. At least there weren't any other teams fans around for the Knicks fans to beat up today (hopefully). Anyway hell of a run the Knicks had to win the title.

My top 3 moments of parade

1) two women fighting on a pole… comic gold, involved pants ripping and twirking
2) guy who OD’D… was resuscitated and tried to make out with the woman who saved him
3) the generic ( too many to say which) random mob beat downs
