Halloween show rumored guests

Take this for what it`s worth , but I heard on the sportstalk station in Philly, 610 WIP, the host talking to a close friend of his who works at the Spectrum, about the show scheduled on Saturday night. The way he described it, "its going to be the modern version of The Last Waltz", telling host Glen MacNow to stop by AFTER the WS game because this was going to go on into the wee hours. The guest list he described???? Springsteen, (who had backed out earlier because of a death in family but is supposed to be back on) Billy Joel, Jerry Cantrell, Chris Cornell, Jon BonJovi, JUST TO NAME A FEW! This was a guy live in the studio, not some wacko random caller, but a friend he knew well enough to be able to get him in the show after the World Series game, no problem. You can call it rumors or whatever but coming from a source other than a rock station, I don`t know what to make of it! Anyone else hear anything to this effect? If they play "Hunger Strike" I`m gonna crap my pants. :o

If these rumors are true do you think there would be an issue with putting performances from other artists on the bootleg?

If I miss Springsten & Billy Joel with PJ I'll never forgive myself for missing these shows.

Probably. PJ most likely would not be able to release the show themselves... they'd need to get major label to do it and represent multiple artists. Not exactly sure how all of that works, but I am fairly certain there would be an issue if PJ tried to release everything as a "Pearl Jam" bootleg. Then again, who knows. Maybe it would all be fine.

Well, they've had special guests before on boots, right?

I'm assuming each artist, at the worst, needs to sign an "ok" with their material being on a PJ release, with their record company's blessing as well, or maybe this will end up being a DVD release of some sort. HALLOWEEN '09 - The Final Show... or whatnot.

I still find it strange that Jon Bon Jovi would grace the stage with Pearl Jam. Or should I say that the other way round. I really thought there was no love lost between them. Maybe it was all in the past ....

Geez I hope I hit the ticket lottery on this one. I know the list sounds crazy but i`m just relaying the info I heard about an hour ago. A modern "The Last Waltz"?! Unreal. I`ve been going to rock shows for over 30 years, now it`s only PJ and real special shows I see anymore. This would be a dream come true. One more day!

I've heard from a few peeps here in Philly that the Boss is 100% for sure and Billy Joel & DMB are maybes.
    Speculation is fun

tonight is going to be great
Seen PJ 21 times live from 1994-2019

  • If even half that rumor is true consider me the most jealous person on the planet. I mean, what a great time to be in Philly. Lucky bastards!

Maybe Billy Joel will do the keyboard solo on Crazy Mary! Springsteen and Eddie with acoustics doing Growing Up! Ed sang it in Reading PA on the Vote For Change Tour. So many possibilities.

  • Bruce and PJ are my top 2 as well.

Two greatest american rock artists of all time, in my not so humble opinion.

I'll throw Brian Wilson, and Bob Dylan and Billy Joel props for 3 of the greatest american song writers ever...

but Bruce and PJ - w/ live performances - are the two best American artists, ever!
