I'm coming from I-95 S. Does anybody have any good parking strategies for the day? The ball game is right next door. I'm kind of freaking out already. I'm worried it's going to be a mess.

I'm coming from Southern CT and we are leaving here at 9am. Just a quick stop to pick up some breakfast on the road along with some cheaper gas in NJ and we should be there a little after 11.
Best thing to do, get there early and chill. Plan on picking up our tickets, hitting up the Wishlist preparty and then hanging in the lot most of the afternoon.
    Can't wait!

Your best bet would be to just arrive early (If possible)

They play football games there also, one football crowd is bigger then the WS crowd plus PJ crowd , so it is not like they have not accomodated a crowd this large before.
  • I have reserved parking so I'm not too concerned about it.

As far as I know, those heading to the Phillies game won't be permitted to park in the Spectrum/Wachovia Center parking lots, they'll all be across the street at the ballpark (and probably Linc) lots. However, if you arrive before 4, the Spectrum/Center lots will be pretty full due to the Flyers game.

Just come early, it'll be fine. I'm more worried about trraffic than parking.

yeah. soooooo much parking available there.
  • You will have no problems parking. Worst case scenario is that you will be across the street in the Phillies lot which is a 5 minute walk tops to the Spectrum.

They don't really control the lots and only let Phillies people park in one lot and Pearl Jam people park in another. I was at one of the Phillies NLCS games last week when there was a Bruce Springsteen concert at the spectrum the same time. Parking was a mess and they closed off the exit from 76E for Broad Street and directed people to the Packer exit closer to the Phillies lots.
If you're coming from 95 south, one strategy might be to get off at the exit for 76W/291 just north of the airport. Go over the bridge. Go straight through the first light (don't veer left to go to 76E). At one of the next lights, you can make a soft left turn on what I think is Pattison. You'll drive by FDR park on the right. There's another parking lot on the left before you get to the Broad St. intersection. If you can get into that one, you won't have to deal with the hassles at the Broad St. exit and traffic there.

It is exit #13 from 95 south. I drove in this way the other two nights and it was a breeze, no traffic. My strategy is if I see a whole lot of traffic up ahead, I will park in that lot mentioned above.

    dumb question time...

if the show goes to 2 am as rumered, will the Phillies or any other surrounding lots lock up before we get out? Hate to find I'm stranded at 2 am..
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

I really don't think you have to worry about the show going until 2 am
  • I came from 95S yesterday and followed the 'Pearl Jam' parking signs from Broad Street. I'm not planning on doing that again as they put us in the Citizens Bank lot. That might not happen today, since there is that WS game and all - but I'll be following the signs for the Flyers game so I can get on the other side of the Spectrum.

Getting out last night wasn't fun because people were driving out through the gate that was on the side of the Spectrum instead of further out past the baseball stadium, where we came in. Dummies. I was really glad when I could get through the line of mo-mo's to go back where we came from!

Usually when I go down there, I skip the Broad St. exit and go to the next exit, Packer Ave. Usually less traffic.

Good tip, thanks! Traffic was a total non-issue yesterday (except when leaving) but I have a feeling tonight might be a little different. ;)
