56 songs on Halloween? My math says they'll be off by 1:30AM

According to soop's thread, there are 146 songs in PJ's most likely catalog, excluding very rare covers, and some other unlikely songs. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=116112
Average show length in Philly is 30 songs. By the time they complete Friday night, they will have performed about 90 songs total (with a couple of repeats, but let's keep it simple and pretend they are all fresh songs).
That leaves 56 to be performed on Saturday night.
According to ML19768's thread about show length, it took PJ 2.5 hours to perform 30 songs (or 31 songs, depending on which show). viewtopic.php?f=5&t=116355
That makes each song an average of 5 minutes long including breaks and all.
With the 5 minute average times 56 songs likely to be remaining after Friday, that leaves about 4 Hours and 40 Minutes of music, in order to literally perform all songs.
If the showtime begins at 9PM, then with this math, they will get off the stage at about 1:30AM if they perform all of their songs.
:geek:
(and being Daylight Savings Time, if they reach 2am, they really only played until 1am)

forget about going till 1:30, that will never happen. 12 at the absolute latest. I would be less surprised if they started earlier then went later...
however, if they did reach 2am, they still played the hour, we just get the hour back for more drinking or sleep...so still win-win. and hell, holy boredom at work batman!
does make you wonder tho - those poor security guards. IF these rumors prove true and they are to work until 2 am.....does that mean really: reach 2 am...turn back clock to 1....and they still have another hour to work? that would suck. tho i believe the clocks actually turn 2:01 am? idk. either way, i do really think we are all in for a very long and fantastic night!

At least this time its EV building the hype for the show and not 100% us

PROVE ME WRONG PEARL JAM, PROVE...ME...WRONG.
Exactly. EV is building the hype and since the World Series is next door, PJ will be unlikely to screw up traffic even more by playing an unannounced pre-set of a large quantity of songs.

That actually depends.
I used to help manage large arena concerts for a number of years (about 300 big shows). Crowd security usually clears out the venue and is probably gone within 45 minutes of the show ending. There's a few guards around backstage, then the promoter's backstage security (non-venue) who handle the corridor, plus the stagehand, loaders, promoter's staff and tour staff who often work until 1:30am - 2:00am on an average arena show (that ends at 11am).
If people are quoting stagehands or backstage security, then you are right.
If people are quoting security who handle crowd control, then this is an indication of how long the crowd will be in the building.
...and with EV saying 2am... I believe they will play very close to that.

I hope pearl jam does play every track in their catalog..But, I just don't see it happening...Plus, playing to 2am..I don't see this happening...I could be wrong..But, if I was a betting man...I would bet against it..

Hi Zoso,
I could see them playing from 8:50 until midnight...Which is around 3hrs plus maybe ten mins or so..But, I am willing to bet they don't go over 3hrs and a half...Ed says things on that the fans want to hear...Most of the time it doesn't happen...
this IS my hobby!
btw there were some posts from people saying friends of staff were on schedule until 3am... then the twitter from the show where ed said 2am... so i think PJ is planning to try to do this. Whether it happens, we'll see, but it seems clear to me the intent is there.
