i dug the 59 sound, but a lot of their material kinda starts to sound the same after a while. i'd still go see them live in a heartbeat though.

Saw them last night at the HOB in Chicago. Great show, great venue. I'm becoming a bigger fan of these guys the more I listen to them. Looking forward to their next record big time.

Have to agree with everyone here. Great live band, Brian Fallon reminds me of a young Springsteen (BTR era). Their new album is coming out early next year.

Did you see them in May at the Masquerade as well. I missed out on this show and was wondering how it was up against a great show they did just a few months back.

Miles Davis & the Cool is one of my favorite go to songs right now. The vibe reminds me so much of growing up it is ridiculous...

Great band to discover! '59 Sound is such an killer album. Definitely check out their first album Sink or Swim. There's some really good songwriting and storytelling on that album also.

They're suppose have a new one out next year (hopefully early in the year). And if you get the chance don't miss them live!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I got both albums yesterday and have listened to both once or twice, really digging it.

I did read they are going back to the studio to record a new album and am looking forward to it. Looks like the lead singer has a solo show in Philly in January, might check it out but am definietly going to keep an eye out and try and get to a show.

His solo shows have been acoustic quiet stuff, they've been pretty good from what I've seen. A different side of them, but similar.

agreed, great live band. But they used way too much of the ribbon mic effect on vox in their album, made all their songs sound repetitive. Hopefully they'll mix up and play with their sound more with their next album.

I'm loving the '59 Sound. It's a great disc to BLAST in the car. Not a bad cut on it, in a Springsteen/Hooters way.

Do they only have two albums? And the other would be recommended as well?

Only the two albums. They have an EP called "Senor and the Queen" which is definitely worth buying. 4 pretty good songs.

I was actually campaigning for them to get the slot as PJ's support act for the Euro show. They were excellent when I went to see them live at Kentish Town, London. Hard working rock band, very impressive and they all seemed like they had a smile on their faces which was nice to see, obviously enjoying what they did. I can't wait to see them again.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

I heard 1 or 2 songs before on the radio, sounded good. Finally got the '59 Sound for my b-day. I enjoyed it. Should have seen them when they were in philly last year :(

Is it just me or in a few of their songs they sound a lot like The Killers? Also see where The Springsteen sound/influence comes in.

The vocals sound a little Killers-esque at times and both bands are influenced by Springsteen, so I guess that's where the similarity comes from.
