Plenty of places downtown, it all depends what you're looking for, how much you wanna spend, and where you're staying. Plus, Friday nights, places can get crowded.

  • looking for a great place to hang w some PJ fans after the show....nothing too expensive just a good watering hole that has maybe some good food and music....staying on South Broad street
  • I think the most "lively" place downtown is the Fieldhouse on 12th and
Filbert--right off of Market....I think they live bands too...younger crowd...

McGillans is my favorite...old, classic Irish Pub on 12th and 13th and Drury...an alley which is right off of Walnut...

Great character...good food...though Friday is karaoke night until 1am-ish--ouch :)
  • Either of these recommendations come with the caveat that the Phillies are in the Series, ANY bar/restaurant with a TV in Philly and the area itself will be a madhouse to say the least.

Chickie's and Pete's is great bar close to the stadium. It's on Packer Avenue near the stadium. The address is 1526 Packer Ave.

Another place to go is Tony Luke's (39 E Oregon Ave), if you feel like going the cheesesteak route. They have more stuff than that, and are open till about 2am. Also, they don't have a TV, so it might be less packed, although it is near the stadium so you never know.

    Hope this helps.

No need to worry about Phils fans and madhouse since there is no game on Friday night but places will be crowded.

Dirty Frank's at 13th and Pine (dive bar)
    Fado at 15th and Locust
    Nodding Head 15th and Sansom
Moriarty's at 11th and Walnut (great wings)

    just to name a few
