The advice we give to you is the advice we give to ourselves.. Let's PACE ourselves.. Its gonna be a long one!" EV speaks at the start of pre-set for 7/11/03 Mansfield final date of the EXPERIMENT.
At 45 songs, in both number of songs and length of the show, this is the longest Pearl Jam show ever. Total count for the three nights of the EXPERIMENT at Mansfield = 82 songs plus 11 covers.

I agree, it wasnt 1 complete show like state college was.
Hahaha some of you people are so corny. "We had the longest show!" "No, we had the longest show!" Who cares? Just enjoy the fucking show you got to see and quit trying to start a pissing match.

I was also at Mansfield 3. A last min decision there too. After MSG 2 when word got out about an acoustic set my mind was made up lol.
I'm going on Friday and Saturday...I can't WAIT to see what PJ has in store for us.
And you will notice that I was at both, so I have no horse in this race. A band played between their sets, in Mansfield, so SC was the longest show ever. If they played at the same venue until 2 AM the night before, and a band played between them, would you count that as one show? Easy.... no.
One you walked in with a ticket and didn't have to re-enter with a new one, you saw the longest Pearl Jam show ever.
And I wasn't at either one so you know I speak the truth
Mike is God....I had one of the shirts on at last nights show...
I wouldn't advertise that.
So now I'm heading to Philly tomorrow for both show (just got my ticket today for Frida's show
Enjoy the show folks!!! Can't wait

i agree. if it was a two show night, they would had selled two different tickets.
no matter if S K played in between.
The original question was: What was the longest set ever… not the longest show. You get one ticket for a show, and it includes the opening acts. If you go to a festival, you buy one ticket and see multiple bands. Some festival of some sort was probably the longest PJ show ever. When PJ comes out on the stage at festival, they play a set that is made up of their main set and possibly encore sets. Smaller parts of the same set. The longest PJ set ever was State College, now it is the Spectrum. Mansfield comes in third. (Lucky me, I was at all 3!) Long doesn't necessarily mean better. The spectrum, while a great show and their longest ever, was the worst show of the 3. Mansfield had the best setlist. State college was the best all around concert.
At State College and at the Spectrum, there was no band playing between PJ appearances on stage. There were no gimmicks, no special guests... Just PJ continuously rocking for a very long time. While the Spectrum was longer than State College, the Spectrum felt forced and unpolished. State College just happened, the guys just kept playing becuase the crowd was amazing and they were having a blast.

I'm in the Boston 3 camp, okay so it was over 2 sets, but it was one ticket, one night. To me that's one show, I don't count that as 2 shows just because a band plays in between them!

so, there are two answers.
I actually did visit this thread to get wich one was the best among the two or three that are on the list.
So i thank you for sharing your comments
I even on occasion interchange "set" and "show". You are correct, but I just figured that was a mistake. The thread is where the real meat is, where people put the thought. Other than the subject of the original post, they are largely ignored. The subject gets you to click on a thread, but for me becomes an afterthought as soon as I start reading the thread.
wait I'm confused.. forget about mansfield for a moment...the Spectrum show is now officially longer than State? and I'm guessing the last show at the Spectrum that we're talking about?
