What songs do you like better live?

I have never really been a fan of "Do the Evolution", but hearing it live last month, I like it a lot better. I still find myself skipping the album version, but listening to the live version.
What songs do you like better live than on the album?

Ones that spring to mind are Porch, Present Tense, Blood, Daughter, Brain of J, Long Road, Animal and Rats.
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Could not agree more! DTE on boots seems so intense and amazing-- definitely more lackluster on the album (but not to say it's not good!)
~not a dude~
2010: MSGx2
2012: Made In America
2013: Pittsburgh, Brooklynx2, Hartford, Baltimore
2014: Leeds, Milton Keynes, Detroit

2016: Phillyx2, MSGx2, Fenwayx2

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
+1 Totally agree!!
But my favs are: State Of Love And Trust, Breath, Leash, Down, The Fixer.
Black.
Corduroy.
Crown of Thorns.
Ledbetter.
Parting Ways.
Insignificance.
Better Man.
Release is a no brainer...there is an energy given off that song live that just cannot be captured anywhere else.
Long Road is an amazing live song.
Low Light is another one for me.
The Fixer (a perfect concert song)

I'm not a huge fan of that album. There are a few songs that I LOVE (Inside Job, Parachutes, Army Reserve and Come Back) and I'm not saying I hate the other songs, but I do feel they're a bit.. Bland.
BUT, I do love 'em all live.
Now this I can get behind!
I always thought that song was ok...but you're right hearing it live it is so much better! It is definitely one of my favorite songs live without a doubt. Hall-e-luj-ah!
Agreed . . . . but some jump out as 1000x better in concert . . . off the top of my head:
Corduroy
Porch
In My Tree
Even Flow
Red Mosquito
Off He Goes
Songs that I could argue are slightly better in their studio form (if comparing to CURRENT live performances - some live performances are WAY better, back in the 90's):
Black
In Hiding
Not For You
Tremor Christ
Indifference
Smile
Garden
Jeremy
Just my opinion.......

The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math - The Mincing Mockingbird
I like all of Ten live back in the old days better than off the record, for example off the Dissident EP or on YouTube of the Pinkpop 92 Festival. They're all more intense and not overly produced and I think at least Ed and Jeff agree with me on that one haha! I like the Ten Redux version better than what was released in August 1991.
I liked how the Vitalogy tracks were sounding on the Vs tour back in '94. Unfortunately I don't have a great recording, but percussion through all of "Better Man" is interesting and once again, they're all raw and more intense. I also feel the same way about how the No Code tracks sounded on the '96 tour, but don't have any great live recordings there either.
The 1998 tour is when they started to chill out haha!, but still, off Live On Two Legs, I love "Go" and "Do the Evolution" and have a playlist on my iPod of just those two versions together when I drive my 3 1/2 mile commute to work and just want to rock the fuck out! "Evolution" is a totally different song live, faster, love it, probably my favorite live jam they do!
All the faster ones off of Binaural I like better live on the '00 boots: "Breakerfall", "Gods' Dice", "Evacuation", "Insignificance", "Grievance", and "Rival". They just sound more energetic and urgent to me. I feel the same way about "Even Flow" nowadays, "Save You" and "Sad".
