the rumor of re-releasing all of the albums was never confirmed...i think the only reason they re-released Ten was cause they had one more album in their contract with Sony

nope, rearviewmirror (greatest hits) was the last thing on their contract w/ sony. of course, sony owns the rights to the 1st 7 albums and does plan to re-release them, at least according to the press release earlier this year (or late last year).
somehow i must of overlooked that line...of course they're not going to blatantly say "EVERY ALBUM IS GOING TO BE RE-RELEASED LEADING UP TO 2011!!!"
and to the guy who said RVM was Sony's last PJ release...didn't Sony technically own all the other labels they used until backspacer? i was referring to that...i thought with J records (i think it was J, forget what they released avocado on too lazy to check) that they had one more record that needed to be published under their contract and that's ultimately the main decision why they re-released Ten...i guess i was WAY off
The BMG/J releases are :
Benaroya
Self-Titled
Into the Wild
It seems they fufilled a standard 3 record deal. As they are a super star act, they probably had a mechanism to opt out after record #3. As a new band, they would be at the mercy of the label.
The band confirmed a re-release of each album on vinyl and it was discussed at length here when the message was first sent out.
In terms of timing, I have no idea, but if the future re-issues are similar to Ten I have to say, I'm almost more excited for the packaging, extra's on the new ones versus spending a crazy amount on eBay for the originals.

seriously? I didn't see anything about them all them being reissued on vinyl! I can't wait!!! And I just noticed, it says "full catalogue", it doesn't just says "studio albums".
So maybe Benny and LO2L will be included in the re-releases?
Gimli 1993
Fargo 2003
Winnipeg 2005
Winnipeg 2011
St. Paul 2014

it'll just be the sony albums, so ten-> riot act. this is sony's doing, more than likely, as they have the rights to those albums and want to milk them for extra cash. I think the band is just involved with the reissues so, unlike the reissues of radiohead's catalogue, they are happy with them.
to a previous poster, self-titled on J was a one-off deal. benny hall and into the wild are separate. plus there is no way that a label would let a solo album count towards any contract fulfillment for the band. I would think that we would get some sort of news fairly soon on vs., cause if they are trying to get these all done in 2 more years, they better get moving.

j's deal covered benny hall, avocado, and into the wild.
Now, finally, Pearl Jam are set to release their first full acoustic concert next month. Not a MTV Unplugged show, the 24-track double-disc was taped in Seattle at Benaroya Hall as part of a benefit for local aid organization Youthcare and will be released through a one time distribution deal with BMG. Aptly titled Live At Benaroya Hall October 22, 2003

how is it a rumour that they are gonna re-release every album? it was in the press release from pearl jam.
"The reissue of Ten serves as the launch of a planned two-year catalogue re-release campaign leading up to the band’s 20th anniversary in 2011."
