I am disgusted at my city.

For any fans coming to Pearl Jam concerts in Melbourne I don't think it will be like this, rap/rnb shows tend to attract the gangsta element of society.
But just be careful walking around the streets at night.

I'm stunned. I always thought of Melbourne as this cool city and Australia as a peaceful cool country. Looks like you're getting the same kind of dorks we have in the UK.

    Sad.

It never used to be this way 5 or so years ago.
This new generation of kids are just messed in the head.
    Just gets worse.
You don't have to go looking for trouble to be bashed, stabbed, bottled, glassed.
It is a case of wrong place wrong time.
I'm gonna learn martial arts and beef up, gotta protect myself!

But why has it become like this? Are they unemployed or just a bunch of losers? I live in a village just outside a small town in southern England. 15 years ago it was a peaceful place but I wouldn't go there at night anymore. Everybody wants to be 'ard. The English are now an acute embarrassment when abroad.

    A bit of both man.
Too many people are angry at the world these days.
Lack of respect, discipline, and alcohol/drugs is what is causing it.
Also lack of police, thanks to the government.
Lot of kids try and be gangsta here, thanks to that s**t Rap Rnb music out these days.

we used to produce a show 10 years agp at continental airlines arena in NJ. It was some rap show with multiple huge acts which has since been moved to giants stadium next door. i remember one year the crowd outsidee the venue was so rough that they were peppersprayed for trying to break thru the 15' tall fences and 1 or two guys took a charging run and broke thru several layers of security and got backstage. not all rap shows but some of them get insane and dangerous.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)
