What a great album. It's got slow stuff which they do well, then they rock out

Not as good as American Idiot but up there

I'm more impressed with this album than the lame album Pearl Jam came out with

It's been on my ipod/iPhone since it's release

your thoughts on this album?

OK, firstly I definitely agree it is a strong album. I can't help but think it's American Idiot pt. 2, but the songs are really well written, I just hope they come out with something really different next time. I saw them live in London this past saturday, and they were brilliant. They played loads of old stuff as well as the new stuff which was cool.

I must however completely disagree with your statement about Backspacer, which I think is PJ's best album since Yield, how anyone could call it lame is beyond me.

Yep, definitely revoked for Bon Jovi

I tried to like the record. Personally I think it's not very good. American Idiot was far more dynamic. I think they need to quit with the Rock Opera thing and go back to making straight ahead Pop/Punk records.

I've left the CD in my girl's car months ago and haven't had the urge to take it back.

I love the album. There are some real stand-outs, but it's a solid album all the way through. Not quite as good as American Idiot, but close. And I have no objection to them continuing on the concept album track. It's a lot more interesting than what a lot of other mainstream rock acts are doing. I also prefer 21st Century Breakdown to Backspacer.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.

Maybe they find the album, and the fact that Green Day's music has gone from edgy punk to primetime TV soundtrack, funny?

    I do!

Alright the reason I got defensive was the lack of intelligence in his or her post. It was just a big "lol" and added nothing to this topic that was worthwhile.

Primetime TV eh? hmm no pearl jam hasn't done that either i'm afraid. Oh wait. . .

PJ's best album since Yield is Binaural. I've listened to 21CB more than Backspacer and I'm not even a Green Day fan.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

I too agree. They need to come out with something new. It was like a AI part 2 but in a good way. The songs can stand by themselves and really didn't have a connection with each other. I just hope for the next album it's like Dookie in a sense that they have great songs but not connected to a story

The new album is a fuckin masterpiece - AGAIN ( I do like all their albums) !

I have listened to it more times than any other albums in 2009. I personally prefer it to American Idiot (which I think I played too many times:( )and can't wait to see and hear them live again next week - for the Vienna show I had to pay twice the price on the fuckin ebay but at least I have Standing ticket.
    favourite songs: East Jesus - Restless H.S. -Horseshoes & H. - 21 Century B.
I love the Who vibe of the songs!

Playing the 3 hits of the album in Rock Band 2 is SICK btw.
