Should I Switch Hotels??

This subway strike is giving me heartburn. I have a room at the Residence Inn in downtown. I was planning on bar hopping in the afternoon then catching the subway to hit the preparty on Wednesday. Should I stick with the plan and just catch a cab or walk the 4 miles to the show or should I try and get a hotel room at the airport and drive over to the venue. Has anyone else considered alternatives to getting down there from downtown? I have an extra ticket to barter for a ride to and from the show if anyone is interested.

  • I really doubt they will allow this strike to happen. I feel like they threaten to strike all the time and only once or twice have they gone through with it. With that said, i think a cab is your best option and will be far less than a rental and boring stay at the airport.

**edit** the strike wouldnt be until saturday anyway, your fine dude.

  • Check the articles... The union is giving Septa officials until saturday to reach a deal or they strike.

  • Whew! Glad you asked about this, Big C. We're staying in old town (Penn's View Hotel) and are depending on subway. The cab ride from old town to the stadiums is $27 each way. Ridiculous. Bring on the STRIKE! (As long as it's Saturday - LOL!!) Enjoy your show!

T-Minus 42 hours until my plane touches down in Philadelphia. WOO HOO!!! :D
