i am a huge raiders fan and i am starting to believe that the dumbest pick in the history of the draft is jamarcus russell. this fucking guy is the worst qb i have ever seen. he is a complete joke. al davis needs his head cut off. j russell is the biggest bust of a #1 pick in the history of the nfl. never play him again. let janokowski play quarterback.

    As bad as Russel has been, and he's been horrible, he actually has a better QB rating and has one more win in 5 fewer career starts than ...

    I don't know. Russell sucks and in hindsight he's a waste of a #1 pick. But by most accounts, he was the best QB in that draft....and Oakland needed a QB. Ginn should have went in the 4th round but Cam Cameron (the Fish coach at the time) drafted him with the 8TH OVERALL PICK because he's friends with Ginn Sr.

    But a bad pick at WR just means that you wasted a first round pick (and money)... you can find a decent WR and move on. If you draft a QB with a first round pick and it turns out to be a bust, he sets your team back for years.

    There is alwyas Ryan Leaf to fall back on when it comes to bad draft picks.....

    Mark Sanchez was evidently enjoying a hot dog on the side lines in the 4th quarter yesterday.

    I had this conversation a couple of weeks ago. Russel is just bad. I try to give him the benefit of the doubt, because the offensive line is pretty rough as well. But the guy blows wide open receivers left and right as well. It's like he has no depth perception. Never seen somebody overthrow so badly. I like the Raiders too, but Jamarcus has to go! Hell, Michael Bush played QB in high school, let him throw a few!

    You can argue that Ginn was drafted to high, but he was NOT a 4th rould level pick. more like late 1st, early 2nd at the latest. They aslo haven't had a QB that could throw the ball down the field, plus the are a running team, plus he does a pretty decent job retruning kick offs.

    I still think Leaf holds this distinction, but Russell is doing what he can to be in that position. The Raiders will NEVER be as long as Al Davis is calling the shots.

    He is easily the worst QB in the league right now, and he is trying his hardest to be the all time worst #1 pick.

    Jamarcus has a contract for $15M next year ($3 garaunteed) so, I think the Raiders may cut him at the end of the season. They will certainly let this play out this year and see if he's worth it.

    As a Pats fan, I hope the Raiders do everything in their power to have a horrible 2010 because the Pats have the Raiders 1st round pick in the 2011 draft. So, KEEP JAMARCUS!!!!

    It's not so much the Raiders team that I cannot stand, but all these moronic fans that live here in Northern California. It's a freaking cult if you ask me. They are the shittiest team in the league as far as I'm concerned, yet all the "Raider Nation" alum wear all their Raider garb 24/7 around here and tout like this is the best team in the NFL. Go away Raiders and go away Raider Nation, whatever you are.

    Try being a Pats fan living here ... :D They cannot stand the Pats and the Red Sox ... they hate it so much that when the Sox are in town, at least one third of the stadium is Red Sox fans ... man, they hate us. :lol:

    To their credit ... they are passionate, and not a bunch of bandwagon fans that only show up when the team is doing well. Yes, they are a little too over the top, but, I'd respect that more than the folks that only show up when the team winning.

    Even better, try being an Eagles fan, and lose to the Raiders!! I was going to go to that game last week and thank God I didn't. But Raider fans out here hate everyone who isn't wearing silver and black. If you aren't part of their group, you get pissed on in the men's room.

    Without a doubt they aren't band wagon fans, but I don't think they even know who is on the team. If they were a little more subtle and not so flaunting of their team all the time I'd be a little more in support of them. I work down near Stockton and don't go a day without seeing 10-15 cars or trucks with absurd Raider Nation Fuck the Rest billboard sized decals on their vehicles. If I put an Eagles sticker on my truck they'd probably shoot at me.

    I think it's a combination of inadequate coaching, (2 coaches in 3 years), Al Davis, and lack of maturity by Russell. I'm not saying the rest of the team is good either...it's not like he was put in a good situation. I think if he were traded or picked up by another team, the coaches would be able to give him the skills he needs to be a better QB. Maybe they'll cut his ass and he'll come back to LSU :lol: lord knows we need a good college QB! haha

    No decent coach wants to work under Al Davis. Fortunately for Raiders fans that reign should end some time in the next decade.

    Aundary Bruce is probably the worst One Overall pick of all time.......Tim Couch deserves a mention in that category too.....Leaf was actually #2 overall to some guy named Peyton...Rick Mirer was another bust at 2nd overall in the draft.

Carter only started 14 games in his career and barely cracked 1,000 yards TOTAL for his career. I'd also argue Steve Emtman was a worse #1 defensive overall #1 than Bruce.

    But Leaf is the worst pick of them all, because he failed in such outrageous fashion ... career 14 TDs and 36 INTS ... ooof.

    I'm pretty down on the Bears right now, but I couldn't even imagine being a Raiders fan. That has to be the worst organization in sports. It's too bad because the Raiders have some great fans. Once that crazy old fuck Al Davis dies, things will turn around.

    Couch and Mirer...and Akili Smith did go quitely into post-NFL life didn't they.....Entmen had at least one really good/impact game.....I always say Bruce is the worst because I'm an Alabama fan...and he's from Auburn. :twisted:

    courtney brown was a pretty bad #1 if you remember. back to russell though. i dont think he would succeed even if he wear with new england. he has no skill for an nfl qb whatsoever. his accuracy is laughable. jason cambell could do better left handed. haha :mrgreen:
