What type and brand of cameras are being used? Wonderful photos on the Art Wall! I use a digital Nikon entry level camera.

  • i was thinking about splurging for a nice camera this winter.. any suggestions? i was looking at nikons but i have no idea the specs or what i should look for! i would use it mainly for photographing my art work and converting them into slides and also just for events or whatever. OP i hear where youre coming from btw.. a nice camera can make a difference, i have a shitty polaroid digital camera and my flash wipes everything out!

My camera is very plain because I don't know how to use a complicated one yet. I'm thinking I probably should learn a bit more and then get a better one.

Mine is just a small digital Kodak camera.

  • The only digital I have is a Canon G9 which I bought 2 years ago, didn't know if I would like digital so I thought that would be a good way to start since I wanted to experiment.
I was old school for many years and only shot with my 35mm (Minolta) 2 x 2, 4 x 5 and 8 x 10 professionally back in the day.
Canon is up to a G11 for a point and shoot, the quality those little cameras offer is what made me pick it up and I've been very happy with it.

    impressive!
i've never shot medium format, always wanted to tho.
i have shot large format 8x10 and it IS very cool, tho cumbersome.....
i used to shoot 35mm, and i still have my minolta X-700. loved that camera, a real workhorse. hubby bougt me a sony digital SLR b/c it will accept my old minolta lenses, which is nice...and we have a sony cybershot that we adored. i haven't used the SLR too much, tho i did just recently do some shooting with it. however, i don't find it intuitive to use, change functions, etc. i miss my damn knobs and levers. the camera i use the MOST and probably the bulk of my most recent pics posted here are from this camera - panasonic lumix point and shoot with 12x lens. fantastic camera, truly! love, love, love it. 8-)

  • For a point-and-shoot I use a Samsung HZ10W. I'd have to say it really is a graet camera. It's small and has great features. HD video recording with great audio even during loud concerts( that's what I bought it for) It's signiture 24mm wide angle lens makes it great to take those shots when you want to get all the stage. Plus with a 10x optical zoom, it has some serious punch for a small camera.
For more demanding shots I use a Kodak Easyshare Z1015 IS. The 15x optical zoom is just crazy! I'd say it can hold it's own against my Nikon D300S. It's only draw back is no interchangeable lenses. But it was meant that way so I can live with that.
