My husband is, so I get to listen to them quite a bit. I used to listen myself in my teens). He also recently bought a DVD from play/amazon that has their early videos on. It made us feel a bit old though watching it, it was an 'eeee remember the days when Morrisey looked old' moment. He saw him solo a few years back (with our son who was 8 or 9 at the time), he really enjoyed it.

Edit: Forgot to see why I put link on, it mentions Carlisle which is just up the road from us. Silly reason, but I like it.

I grew up listening to The Smiths ..... loved them, they were a light in the otherwise hellish Britian of the 80's,both musically and economically ....... I still love breaking them out.

I love the Smiths/Morrissey, I never get tired of hearing their music! Morrissey is a genius! I hope he feels better after his collapse on stage. I can't wait to get the new b-sides album Swords, the bonus live disk looks great too! I hope he comes back to the east coast for some more shows!

Yep, though I've not followed Morrissey solo. Love, love, love The Queen is Dead.

One of my all time favorite bands. Funny though, I didn't actually start getting into them until I was in my early 20's. They really didn't get too much exposure in the States. Favorite album is The Queen is Dead, but they're all incredible. They just released most, if not all of their collection on 180 gram vinyl, by the way.

LOVE the Smiths. Saw Morrissey a few months ago and it was amazing.

I preordered that cd. The bonus cd does look good.

I can't say I really liked his last album so much. My favorite music is when he was with the Smiths and his older solo albums.
