Saw them last night in Virginia at the Norva. What a show real small crowd :D Opened the show with Rage for order album awesome hearing those songs again, then went right in to American solider. This is a great album Geoff explained it was written from an interview he had with his dad and hundreds of other soldiers. No politics just about feelings and emotions pretty intense. Closed the night with the Empire album. It was pretty cool how they did the show playing each album. They played about 2.5 hours thanking everyone for keeping live music alive. Last time I saw them was operation mindcrime tour so I was happy to finally hear all the Empire songs live.

Well saw Queensryche last night good show played 2.5 hours three albums worth of material very small crowd

All I will say is one song on American Solider Coming home is a song that gets me every time! They sang it last night and had the 13 year old girl from the album version on stage singing with Geoff. It was very intense for me as I just got back from deployment and then was sent to a school in Virginia after a 7 month deployment so I really miss both my kids a lot by the time I see them again both kids will have had birthday. I will be back with them again in Nov I left for deployment last January. Here are the lyrics to the song I recommend hearing it the little girls voice is very good!

So to me it was an AWESOME show!!

    Album: American Soldier (2009)

    It's harder than I thought,
    To be so far away.
So I thought I'd write this letter to you and explain.
For me it wasn't easy to raise the flag and leave.
But I thought that you should know how
    Much you mean to me.

I won't be there to see you dance and hear
You sing the songs we love.
So please be strong and it won't be long till
    I'm home again.
You know you make me proud
Because you're the one that I depend upon.
And when I return, I promise,
I'll never leave you alone again.

It's harder than I thought and you're so far away.
So I thought I'd write this letter to you and explain.
    It was only a moment.
I turned my head to wipe my eyes and
When I looked again I saw your smile that
    Said goodbye.

    Mama says don't worry,
Because Daddy's brave and he's coming
Home. But if I could change one thing,
    I'd never let you go.

I want you here to see me dance and sing
Along to the songs we love.
So I'll be strong. It won't be long till you're
    Home again with me.

When it feels too much to take,
I want you to know that I'm thinking about
You, making plans for when I'm home.

    Why aren't you here?
    I wake up every night.
I check the front porch light,
    Making sure it's shining bright.

And I'll be there to shine the light
So you can find your way to me.
I'm feeling strong, but don't take too long.
    Please come home to me.

I'll be there to see you dance and hear you
    Sing the songs I love.
    It won't be long.
It won't be long till I'm home again!

    Why aren't you here?
    I'm coming home!

I agree they're very inderrated and for you to see them at the Norva, in Norfolk is awesome. A small club but one of the coolest backstage with all the mant assets for bands to feel very comfortable.

Yes it was very cool seeing them at the Norva! I was lucky to be here at school VA, I live in Hawaii. Now I will be off to Philadelphia on the 30th with no tickets since I had no idea I would be at this school or I would have bought through 10c I have a decent number. been away from family for awhile so going to Philly for both nights will be awesome, I am sure I will find a decent ticket for both nights on the street. Then I will be on my way to Hawaii and off to pick up the family! Looking forward to that!

Cool I wish you luck on tickets, I've been to many many, concerts with no tickets and I've gotten in with great seats. One catch single tickets can get you some great seats. If I wasn't busy i would travel up there and grab a ticket but we shall see I'm going to a Living Colour show Nov 1.

I like this band, a friend introduced me to this music a few months ago, and I was so amazed of how much they sound like Pink Floyd...:clap::clap:

Ya they are really good band and as others have said underrated! I would say Floyd in terms of most of there albums have a concept and full of emotion.

I recently bought Mindcrime I and really like it. "Anybody Listening" came on my ipod on shuffle yesterday and blew me away by how good it is.

Do they always play whole albums at their concerts?

Most of their stuff doesn't sound like Pink Floyd, but definitely Silent Lucidity. I have a friend that's a huge PF fan and thought it was a PF track the first time he heard it.

That song features the late, great Michael Kamen, who orchestrated the string section - he did the same on Pink Floyd's The Wall. So there you go!

I am sad that I lost track of this band. I was amazed at Mindcrime and Empire and I thought Promised Land was incredible. After that, I don't know if my taste change or if they changed but I just couldn't get into them anymore.

Damage is one hell of a track.
