What current/new bands are PJ fans of?

I saw Jeff once wearing a Wolfmother shirt, but any insight on what other bands, either up-and-comers or already-here-ers the band might be into that they have not brought out on tour before?

I have not always been a fan of the bands that open for them (Idylwyld, MMJ), but am still curious about any others they might be into that I have yet to discover.
Gimli 1993
Fargo 2003
Winnipeg 2005
Winnipeg 2011
St. Paul 2014

  • Of course Ed is a longtime fugazi fan, but I read a pretty recent interview where he mentioned The Evens -- and I came to find out that The Evens is Ian McKayes (from fugazi) recent band. I bought their albums and they're awesome.

OLF had four bands on the main stage prior to Pearl Jam, but Eddie only mentioned by name the 2nd:

    BUILT TO SPILL

I so want a BtS/PJ tour now!!! But not quite sure I'd call BtS current or new?

Ed mentioned in an interview in Toronto he was into the new Wilco album, a few weeks before that Jeff Tweedy submitted a question to Ed about doing cover songs. Seems to be a mutual admiration blossoming there, doesn't hurt they are the two best American bands going right now (IMHO, of course!).
