Not one story (as I write this) on the first page about BS. It's only been out a month. No more commentary?

I for one am still listening daily and finding different things that I love about it. My favorite tune keeps changing too. Johnny Guitar ATM which was the one song I hated at the first listen.

I'm listening to it about every second day right now. My fav songs are beginning to assert themselves - Johnny Guitar, Just Breathe, Amongst the Waves, Unthought Known.

Same hear on Johnny Guitar, worst song when I started my permanent BS rotation. Now it's in my top 3.

I'm already a bit over it. I think I've listened to it a few too many times. I'm not listening to it again until after my tour at the end of November. There are quite a few songs I skip which is a bit of a shame. But there are some great ones too.

I wasn't too sure about 'ol Jonathan Guitar at first. Right now I'd have to say it's one of my favorites on the album (along with about eight of the other songs ). As much as I enjoy the first three songs, I eagerly await that crazy little rhythm set by the guitars and vocal alliteration.

Backspacer is definitely different than the band's other offerings. Up until this point though, whenever I've listened to each new album as it came out, I've been able to say quite accurately that it "sounds" like PJ. In this case, I think the instrumental portions are a significant detachment from their past work. They are accomplishing something different on this one, but I'm not quite sure I know what it is yet.

eV's lyrics and voice are especially strong on Backspacer, and his voice is pretty much unmistakably his. His voice is also the most consistent thread that binds this album with their other work to me (at least at this moment) because the instrumentation seems a little different.

Aside from all of that though, I'll stand by the statement that I invariably produce when I've had time to digest a PJ album: no other band could've made this album and had it sound as good.

Yeah I just got them last night. It was terrific to hear the live ones. Unthough Known is quite awesome.

Cant stop listening to it , Got Some my fave at the moment, followed by Johnny guitar. The whole thing is great though.

Now that I have picked up some 2009 boots, I don't listen to Backspacer as much. But I still love it to death. I was and am very, very happy with this album.

Im still listening daily- Gonna See My Friend has dropped to my least favorite song, mostly because it has zero meaning to me, Johnny Guitar has definitely grown on me- i used to think it was stupid, but now i think its fun.
Force of Nature still my fav, and I try my best not to skip Speed of Sound eventhough I hate it less.
