I believe no one has ever heard of this song.. Don't know if this is really a song or something like an early improvisation of the band.. But, isn't just fun to find it out when we'll have the deluxe edition in our little hands?!

I hope it's something completely new, but I have a feeling it will be an early recording of Yellow Ledbetter, which would still be cool. That one Billboard article described it as a Stevie Ray Vaughn style jam with improvised vocals.
  • Maybe it's just me, but If I open my deluxe set, pop in that cd, jump to '2000 mile blues', and it's just a different version of 'Yellow Ledbetter', or just a remixed version of the song and they NEVER BOTHERED TO MENTION THAT LITTLE TIDBIT I'm going to be Uber-pissed. They better just tell us now if that's the case...Why play games?

dont know where everyone is getting that its just an old "yellow ledbetter"... lots of mikes riffs sounds like SRV... ill be bummed too if thats all it is... right now this may be the only new thing in this set

    PLEASE BE NEW!

"The O'Brien disc also includes six previously unreleased songs from the era: early versions of "Breath" and "State Of Love And Trust," "Brother" (with vocals, not the instrumental version from the 2003 rarities collection "Lost Dogs"), "Just A Girl," "Evil Little Goat" and <b>"2,000 Mile Blues," a Stevie Ray Vaughan-inspired jam with improvised vocals from frontman Eddie Vedder</b>."

Sounds like Ledbetter-ish, if nothing else.

Then I don't see why they wouldn't just come out and say it's a rough cut of Ledbetter.

because it ISN'T...it's a bluesy improv jam, but has nothing to do w/ yellowledbetter whatsoever.

they couldnt possibly call ledbetter a SRV-inspired jam...ledbetter is 100% hendrix, so unless theyre lying or wrong, its not ledbetter

considering SRV's playing is a straight ripoff of hendrix, id say youre walking a pretty fine line

still dont think its ledbetter though

I thought ledbetter was an off-the-cuff improv itself, so how could there be an "early version"?

You're right that it's a bluesy improv, but you can't deny that this probably served as a template for Yellow Ledbetter.

SeaTut73 is on the in's and in the know. Generally, if he says something it is the truth.

Forget this song. If you are in the know, how is the album progressing? :)
