We were talking about Cheryl Cole's cringeworthy performance at the weekend. Her outfit was totally ripped off from some one hit wonder girl band from the 80s who wore the military jackets and the bit hats... but I can't for the life of me remember their name  I THINK there was only three of them (but maybe 4) and I think one was smaller than the others... and they had the big hair and all.

Sorry, this is obviously completely non important but one of those things that'll drive me nuts if I don't get it

Big hair in the 80's? That ought to narrow it down...
I smile, but who am I kidding...

Hahaha... well the three (or four) of them wore red/orange marching style jackets with the marching band hats.

I remember at the time they had a big hit... but it may have been the only song they had... it was around the same time as Vixen and Heart had hits I think

so, what's the genre, was it more hair metal or pop?

And who have you eliminated thus far? Ones not mentioned yet that is ... it may trigger someone to remember another band.

oh, and, do you have a pic from this performance that reminded you of the 80s band?

There was a girl band from the 80's on Never Mind the Buzzcocks last week the lead singer had red hair, they wore military jackets. She was in the line up. Can't think of the name for the life of me. Will have a look on BBCi.

Jimed, it was pure pop.. don't even think they had pretend instruments :D . I'm hoping to FIND the pic.

Were they well known in the US? I've never heard of that band or that song and I practically lived in dance clubs from 1986-1990
