I went to see Wilco w/ Liam opening last Friday in Ann Arbor. Holy shit is Liam fucking great!!!!!!!
I've had his "I'll be lightning" album for a little while. Since reading about him opening for Ed solo. Just one of those things where I listened to it breifly and it kind of got lost in the shuffle and forgot about it.
Seeing him live was a revelation. How he loops all kinds of guitar parts and then rocks out on the drums is great.
He was of my new musical heroes.

to the LP .. my opinion only ..
i think they put to much effects on the LP .. the live show is very mind blowing ..

I never listen to Liam much. The CD just doens't do his shows justice.0

Only comment on this is that he's not so new...his band, Betchadupa, has been releasing music since 2000 and his earliest solo work dates back to 2001. I'm really not into Betchadupa, but Dr. Finnkenstein is the effin' man! I do agree with others here that the album (as much as I love it) doesn't do his live show justice and at times can be over-produced in terms of effects.
