Couldn't really find any recent info in the hotel thread so I'm starting a quick new one.

Has anyone recently (in the past two weeks) bid on a Philly hotel through priceline? If so how much did you bid, what area, star level, and hotel did you end up with? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • about 2 weeks ago we put in for Philly City Center / 3.5 stars / $70 and it was accepted. Got the Sheraton Society Hill (on Dock St.) it's right near the water, about a half mile east of the liberty bell. came to $83 including taxes.

now, another one of my friends just put in for it yesterday and it was rejected. so you'll probably have to offer $80 or $90 and that will put your total to around $90 to $105 with tax.

Cool thanks. I'll have to try to bid $80 today. I put in a bid for $70 yesterday and was rejected.

That's a cool location. Got that hotel on Priceline for the 2003 show. You are right near the river, old town, and a short walk to Independence Hall. Not too far to the subway.

Has anybody had any Priceline luck lately for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights? Trying to find something reasonable for those nights. I'd hate to skip out on the shows because I can't find an affordable hotel room!

The airport hotels seem to be the only thing that's cheap enough right now. Is the bus service that covers that area around the airport (I believe it was Route 37 of the SEPTA) reliable to get me to the Spectrum each night? Are there plenty of stops right near the airport hotels?
