The End
I was mowing my lawn on Saturday.
Had my iPod going, headphones on.
Backspacer blasting.
The End comes on.
I get to listen to the lyrics for the first time.
The next thing I know, I'm dripping with tears.
Oh my. This song is really sad. Painful.

the song helped save my relationship...my girlfriend and i got into a huge fight, like it was a potential break up fight, but then i put the song on while we were being quiet and when it was done, she laid down next to me telling me she loves me and that i know just the right song for the right mood...i tend to communicate through music, i guess you can call me a sensi, but it just felt like the right thing to do, and the fight was over
looking out from the inside of the bottom of a well, its hell, i yell, but no one hears.
Some of my fav lyrics of all time. Intense and powerfull stuff

i'm partial to
"more than friends i've always pledged cause friends they come and go,
people change as does everything i wanted to grow old, i just want to grow old."
i know it's a cliche, but it's something i really stand by especially after my almost break up with my girlfriend, this really means something to me
that is one of my favorite lines from the entire album. I agree completely.

This puts (Eddie) the band in singer song writer category with Harry Chapin #1 Yusuf Islam Cat Stevens #2 IMO

GOT SOME
How do you think it is to leave you here with the kids on your own,
Just don’t let me go.
- i hear a poor guy with cancer leaving his family
that line about the kids get me blubbering every time.
the week the album came out I had a call from a friend. His wife was in hospital with heart failure... complete and utter shock. We're all (relatively) young and healthy and this just blew everyone away.
they had to put her into an induced coma. I listened to The End that night and ended up a blubbering mess...
story ends happily (no pun) - modern science did its job and she is now recovering nicely at home. But everytime I hear the "leave you here with the kids on your own" line I well up.
