The Wonder Ballroom, where he is playing in Portland, is where we saw Mark Lanegan back in May. It's a cool venue. If I remember right, someone was telling me it used to be an old boys youth center. The concert "hall" is essentially a gutted gym that has a stage at one end, and a bar at another. When the crowd clears out, you can see the faded lines that once were markings of a basketball court.

It would be an awesome place to see Bob.

  • I had just got my hearing fully back after the Wonder Ballroom Mould show, only to have it ravaged by a Garbage gig a week later.

    Both shows equally stellar!

Seen him a few times and I am sorry to say the live shows are not my cup of tea.
Saw sugar about four times and, well, the records are 100X better than the shows IMHO.

I think that may be why the guy is still playing 1000 seat venues.

Word is that the last show in SLC he played, he was a real prima donna.

What's that saying? With genius comes eccentricity? K, genius might be overstating it, but Ryan Adams is a fucking masterful musician.

I was just a few years too young to be a Husker Du fan, but I was into Bob (also not literally) from the Sugar days onwards. It really is amazing he still cranks out such great albums after all this time, and he's not lazy either, he puts out more albums than most of my other favourite bands.

Thanks god the quitting rock music thing didn't last long, can you believe he intended only to make electronic and acoustic music from 2002 onwards?! He's put out 4 great rockers since then though!

Love Bob. I saw him on the Workbook tour with The Pixies at San Jose State University. I picked up the Circle of Friends RSD release last year. It is a good mix of his catalog.

  • I have tickets to the solo electric show in St. Louis. The venue is requiring proof of vaccination or negative test within 72 hours. Masks are required inside. I appreciate the safety measures that the venue and band are putting in place.
