Caught a 1990 film rendition of William Golding's novel. Really cool movie, actually. Captured the story in a really intense way, like it was meant to be.

Fans of the book??

We had to read this in school and i though it was pretty good actually, a film interpretation would be an interesting watch.

This version wasn't bad. It apparently has a cult following, or so Wiki says. ;)

Fun watch though, I want to go re-read the book. I had to read it as a junior in high school, but at that time reading didn't interest me as much as it does now.

Had to read it over the summer for 12th grade. Short book. But took me all freakin' summer, and I'm a reader. No particular reason, but I remember it was like pulling teeth. I recall wanting to see the 90's movie version, but not loving the book killed that. But, hey, at least understand allusions to the book.

Yeah, it has a great overall metaphor. I really like how the author made the characters resemble different aspects of human nature...my kind of symbolism.

  • I remember being too disturbed by the book in middle school when we had to read it. The part where they're hunting and one crazy kid is basically raping the pig with a stick? Gag.

I know it's supposed to give that reaction but as a 13 year old it was a little much.
