Did Boston miss out this round b/c the crowds were so obnoxious and annoying and stupid and massholey and everything Eddie hates during the solo shows?

No, the east coast got a tour in 2008 that the west coast didn't. Eddie seems to prefer "rowdier" crowds for PJ shows and "calmer" crowds for his solo efforts. BTW, other than Philly, no cities on the east coast got shows.

  • first of all show me a solo show that didn't have at least a few drunk assholes yelling stupid shit! they are in every state!! and as far as PJ concerts go...we didn't miss out on shit, they will be here in the summer..no doubt about it..why?..because we are one of their biggest markets in the whole WORLD...plus Boston crowds kick ass and expel way more energy than the pussies on the west coast!!!

No. No way. Not at all.

I was at Eddie's second solo show at the Boston Opera House and while there certainly were some screaming meatheads, the crowd energy and Eddie's reaction to that energy were both fantastic. He told us that whenever someone yelled, no matter what they said, all he heard was "I'm an idiot". We all laughed. Then someone actually yelled "I'm an idiot!" and Eddie had to turn around because he was laughing so hard. At the end, while Arc was swirling around us, Eddie walked back and forth along the stage thanking the crowd with kisses and waves and smiles. There is not a doubt in my mind that he enjoyed that evening almost as much as we did. One of the best concerts I have ever had the opportunity to attend. A great, great night.

Unfortunately pretty much EVERY show that EV did solo had this exact same crowd, LA, Chicago, NY, everywhere.

And you really have to be from New Hampshire or some other hick town to think the Band dislikes Boston. It is one of the bands favorite stops. ;) :P :D

don't worry man i've heard MSG rumors for august on '10 and whenever PJ has MSG on their list, they also have Mansfield...there's also a Gorge rumor for June (yeah i know it's west coast but just mentioning it)
  • Why would they want to play in Boston/Mansfield?

I was there last year, great concert but the venue and the crowd... meh.

Now, MSG on the other side... THAT was mindblowing! I would take it over another Boston show anytime.
Plus, I mean, Boston has the Red Sox. That's all they want baby ;)

    Yeah we are the worst.

I don't think Pearl Jam will ever play here again.

if this post isn't sarcastic...it reeks of noob.

i know as a new yorker, i should be shitting n boston because that's what we do, right?

but seriously, its one of my favorite places to see a show. i much prefer the garden to mansfield though. the 04 shows there and the 06 shows were huge......now that i think of it, the 2 shows there were the highlight of my 06 tour........besides irving plaza
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

Hey, I resemble that remark (as Groucho Marx used to say). Speaking as someone who used to live in NH and drove (or rode my horse) to many a PJ show in Boston or Mansfield (and one in Maine), I think we all know the band likes to play there.

I heard their next show in Boston will be at Fenway Park.
And then another little show at Irving Plaza (or whatever it's called now).

I am from seacoast NH and I think the Boston crowds are great (and lived there many years)....I just read about a lot of negativity those shows. Match that with some jealousy of missing Ed solo, not going to Philly and two stiff cocktails and you have the seeds of the now seemingly ridiculous post.

    Cheers

What about 5 nights at the Orpheum or hall like that?

Damn... hard to pick up when someone is being sarcastic. Thus my winking and smiley faces.

I used to promote for a Beer Company in Portsmouth.... fucking love that city.

It was a while ago....but I think The Blue Mermaid, and quite a few places downtown.
