Interracial couple denied marriage license ..

Actually, he is a justice of the peace and therefore, I assume, appointed by the state so it is against the law for him to deny someone to get married based on race. I heard that he has done this a lot of times but no one has ever done anything about it...........thankfully someone has now.

I'm guessing it's no coincidence that a politics student asked somebody to marry them who's known for turning away similar couples :roll:

Yes, there are most certainly backward views out there... but they're a dying breed. The worst his opinion did was make this couple go elsewhere.

HH you should check A Moving Train we have 10 check that 11 pages on this very subject. The man is a judge hired and paid by the state to marry couples whether they're black, white, orange or blue. IT in NOT his right to refuse them on the grounds of concerns about there children, he needs to keep his racist opinions of people to himself and do the job the citizens expect him to do. Notice his cleaned up his act by now saying some of these interracial couples have come to him drunk and refused them for being intoxicated. Yeah right, why not say that from jump street, in the beginning where everyone can see clearly what your true thoughts are on the matter at hand.

Apologies, I didn't read the bit where he was a judge... so he's paid good money to carry out the law and that's a different story. He should have married them... in saying that who'd want to get married by someone who doesn't want to marry them? :oops:
