The emotions experienced by this kids mother would of been poles apart. Can not believe he survived.

Holy shit! I can't blame the Mother too much as just one lapse in concentration and these things happen.

Thank God the child was OK.

That is unbeleivable. I feel really sorry for that mother....but she is totally to blame. You have a baby stroller just feet from a traintrack. You hold on tight and you use the brake.

Yes, you have your hand on the stroller.
But this happened. Just like the lady whos' baby rolled off into a river a drowned.
Thank God the kid was OK, as for the mother....................Forever etched in her memory.
The police investigated and found no wrongdoing by the mother, the stroller rolled from the Vibrations of the train coming in to the station.

Man, do not remove your hand from the stroller, in shops, schools, visits, elsewhere............

yeah.. it's like one of those natural instincts like walking on the outside of your kids when walking along a road or whatever.

The thing is, the day before this happened the train operator warned people on the news here to be careful at train platforms as there have been previous incidents where trams rolled off the platform.
Then this happens the next day.

Wear your baby hands-free in a sling! It's the most natural thing in the world. All of these modern products like strollers, carriers, swings, walkers, playpens, etc. just interfere and make life more complicated.

I don't blame the mother at all.
We ALL have these tiny lapses of security in our lives... whether it's glancing down to look at your cell phone while you are driving your kids around... or you turn your back on a toddler in the kitchen with a pot of boiling water on the stove. No one is 100% concentrating on their kids... no one.
I say... there but for the grace of God go I. I'm not passing any judgement on this young mother... the horrific images in her mind as that train rolled into the station are more than enough for her to bear.

yeah, certainly we all have lapses in judgement... 4 seconds of not thinking is going to cost this lady a lot of psychological damage for a very long time i think. no one can say they are 110% aware all the time, mistakes, even really costly ones (like this one could have been!!), are inevitable. you don't even need sound to see her anguish, she's got enough on her shoulders right now I think

YIPES!!! Thanks. It was nice not to hear the woman screaming, that would have brought tears.

In America, the above-the-law Child Protection Service would own that child from now on. But that is a rant for a different thread.
