Does anyone know where Ten came from? As far as the origin of the title itself. In my readings I came to the conclusion that Ten came from the ten cassettes that Eddie took with him to Seattle the very first time the band where together. After he laid down the vocals on the mamasan recordings. I cant remember the artist that the cassettes where of but his girlfriend Beth gave them to him to record over for the sessions in Seattle. Sorry if i am babbling. just bored and curious.

    According to wikipedia:
Fans of the basketball player, the band members of Pearl Jam originally named their group "Mookie Blaylock", but they were forced to change the name. They settled on naming their debut album Ten after Blaylock's jersey number.[1][2][3] In addition, Blaylock himself is a fan of Pearl Jam.[1]
I smile, but who am I kidding...

i should have known it was cause of Mookie, i guess i was hoping it was the ten blank cassettes. anyway, I was just brushing up on my PJ history. Thanks fellows. In those same readings I came across the story of the guys trading basketball cards during that first meeting in Seattle and of those ten tapes I mentioned, Jeff stuck a Mookie Blaylock card in the insert of the cassette case to make it look like the artwork. It was Blaylock's rookie card from the New Jersey Nets. Kinda cool huh??
