3G

Need opinions.

Need new phone. I have ATT. I am eligible for discounted (and free) phones if I sign up for another 2 years. In reading about 3G Technology, it appears necessary for Data plans etc. However, they also offer 3G phones (discounted) for regular plans (no Data, just voice).

Question:

Does using a 3G phone improve my voice service?

Simple and boring question, but I know I can count on PJ Fans for good opinions.

Thanks.
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

i noticed no doffererence on voice quality using 3g here in Australia.
3g is the way of the future, why not go down that path so you have the data option if you want it.

go to Japan or Korea, and they are 100% 3g networks :ugeek:

i had this dilemma myself recently when i was looking at new phones. i ended up eith a blackberry that only has 2g. apparently, 3g is a whole lot faster for data/internet transfer, which i didn't feel was all that necessary. but i have no idea if it's supposed to have any impact on voice transmission.

I actually turn the 3g off on my phone because it's a battery waster and absolutely not necessary for voice and even texting. If I need to surf the web, email, stream video, etc., I do it from my phone's wifi connection and if no network is available, then I turn 3g on.

I'm a tech head. Or at least i was at one time. I gotta say, I'm finally getting sick of it all. i miss just going out and buying a phone because you like the way it feels in your hand or against your ear.

i have a blackberry. the flip blackberry, and i fucking hate it. i miss my simple razor. :(
    Peace, Love.

Where we live (the sticks), 3G isn't even available even with 3G phone technology.

I want an iphone so bad but its expensive, the cheapest monthly payment would be around $90 per month, and I am telling myself its only an expensive toy and I mainly need a phone for texting and calling anyway.

Unless you have an iPhone...stay the F away from AT&T!

I have AT&T for my work phone (Blackberry) and it sucks serious ass! I travel a lot for work and I cannot tell you how many times I'll be somewhere without 3G coverage or the network is completely slammed and it's slow as shit.

Like I said, if you have or want an iPhone you have no choice but to go with AT&T.

If you go the Blackberry route, you really need to go with a company like Verizon.

Oh, and there is no difference in voice quality either way...
