Ok,

So guess what? Phoenix, an area of 5 million people and the 8th largest metropolitan area in the US, has not seen pearl jam since the 2003 Riot act tour.
I just wish Pearl Jam may actually tour the Southwest instead of spending half a week in L.A.

My short answers to your long rant.
PJ will play markets they missed this tour, next year. Phoenix and Las Vegas in the southwest to name a couple. And NYC, Boston, and DC in the northeast to name three.

Pearl Jam in NYC, lets hope so, I need an excuse to cross the Atlantic again and spend time in that great city.

Seeing that SLC just ended an 11 years absence of Pearl Jam, I feel your pain...but be patient :D

Keep Vegas, SLC, maybe Denver and So. Cal open for possibilities too, not to far of a trip for those shows....it's always an adventure to travel for Pearl Jam.

If you're right, I know I'll be at one of the southwest shows if not both...Phoenix would be cool though...I've never been there.

Albuquerque! Not as large as Phoenix but last show in NM was 2000... having previously hosted excellent shows in 93, 95 (Las Cruces), and 98. Hate to burst your bubble but Phoenix '03 was hardly a great show. It had some good tunes, but Ed partied too much in Vegas the night before, didn't sound good, and was tired. Barely hit the 2 hour mark I think. I saw 9 shows that year and even though I was in 1st row for that one, it was the shortest and least enthusiastic.

I would road trip though to Phoenix, Denver, Vegas, Lubbock (doubtful repeat performance there...)

I'd like to stay optimistic, but at this point, I am of the thinking that Pearl Jam is much more into playing the same cities/metropolitan areas over and over and over and making their fans come to THEM instead of the other way around. This "tour" this year cemented my beliefs. You put out a brand new album and play, what, 8 cities or something like that? Weak, guys. Weak. :) Turn back into a Touring Band 2010 please.

  • Another vote for Phoenix. Row 5 center stage in 2000 and two of the cuts made the DVD. Incredible. But they should stop coming in the middle of summer. I recall Ed mentioning it was like sucking on a hair dryer out there....

  • Does anyone really doubt this? A world tour for a new studio album and they're not going to hit the East Coast?? I take a couple of NYC shows in early-mid 2010 to be a certainty!! Can't wait!! :D

I've stopped complaining about where bands do/don't play...I just travel to where they are (within reason, of course ;) ). Luckily, they played in Austin, but it took 6 years for them to come back to Texas, so I'm sure they'll be in Phoenix sometime!

I like to repeat my thoughts cause It gives me hope..... but this would be (has been) my guess of a Western swing in 2010:

    The Gorge X2
    Sacramento
    Shoreline
    Fresno
    Santa Barbara
    Irvine X2
    San Diego/Chula Vista
    Pheonix
    Las Vegas
    and Denver
