Taking Pearl Jam for granted?

when you look at some of the greatest rock bands of all-time its amazing how long (short) some of them have stayed together. The Beatles 1960-1970 (10 years) Led Zeppelin 1968-1980 (12 years) The Doors 1965-1973 (8 years) These are just a few.....

PJ has been together from 1990-present 19 years and still going strong! New albums & tours with no signs of stopping. I for one am just trying to stay grateful and appreciative for every second because you never know when it could just end. Imagine that, no new albums for some to hate on, no new shows for some to bitch about....scary isn't it?

That makes me so sad when I think about what the Beatles could have done. I really think they would have been good because Lennon's stuff on his own was so good but you could understand where Paul could have come in and tweaked some of the songs. But Lennon's stuff on his own was so confessional and real that you understand the importance of him being on his own. Though one could argue Yoko's involvement as well. That's why Into the Wild was such an important record. I mean you always hear Eddie's voice through the words and music of Pearl Jam of course, but it is important that Eddie gets the opportunity to do his own thing which of course makes the band stronger. All in all I'm not a big fan of Sean Penn but am so glad he asked Eddie to do the soundtrack. That record was so important to me and moved me the way Lennon's stuff did.
  • i love those kind of threads couse make smile about the best Rock band in the world.... :)

Its funny you mention Lennon because I have always noticed parallels between the two. Two singer/songwriters that captivated their respective generations. I have always stood by the notion that Pearl Jam are our/my Beatles.
