Who’s it going to be?
The one to save me
Could it be you?
Or will it be someone else?
This ever present thought
Reminds me of what it is to be
To be me, to be this without a home
Still…..I stand silent
Into the night
Into the thought
Into the dream of
Into the memory of what it is
What it is to be
What it is to be you
What it is to be the one who remembers
The thought of what it is
Of what that is all to be
With you by mind side
Nay, not by my side
But within my mind
To stand side by side
Welcome to the universe
Here but not there
There but not here
By my side
Nor by my madness
Of what it is to be here
Here alone, nor surrounded by the sound
Of the love that burns within
Within me, within you
Within all that is to be here
All that is to be true
Would you walk into the door?
If I held it open for you
Or would you run
Run, away from that which I know is true
That rings true in my mind
A mind that is so long ago
Faded to the black
Or the darkness of what it is
What it is to be
From the here and now
To the then and there
Funny how this all sounds
A thought that I never had
Until this….
This pain, nor hurt
Held upon the crest
Of a mind, lost long ago
Lost along the way
But here, and now
I know it will change
With you in the here and now
With you in my mind
Sad along the way
But still you always understood
What it is to be
What it is to see
What I am to be
What I am to become
Not a hero to some
But a savior to others
Funny how it is
How I think
Alone along this trip
This dark long journey
But still you stand
Stand in your defiance
Of me, of you, of what is to come
Of what is to be
Love, for all that is
And all that is to be
What a strange
Sad, little wonderful world we live in
When I can sit and stare
At the love you bring to the table
The one to save me
Could it be you?
Or will it be someone else?
This ever present thought
Reminds me of what it is to be
To be me, to be this without a home
Still…..I stand silent
