Apple Butter

So my 7 yr old son LOVES apple butter...eats it every morning for breakfast before going to school. So this morning he's making his toast while I've got Backspacer on the stereo and he says...Hey mom, you know what I love more than apple butter? No, what says I. Pearl Jam.

Proudest I've been in a month....smart AND witty as heck.

    Try pumpkin butter (plug for Trader Joe's). Or Pearl Butter.

    My grandma makes her own apple butter and it's about the best thing in the world.

    I'm partial to peach butter...canned 15 pints this fall. I've never tried to make apple butter because its so easy to find at the store.

    It's insane all the apple butter for sale up here. I love this time of the year going to Apple Hill, and the cider donuts, sweet Lord they are the best thing on earth.

    I make my own apple butter in the crock pot...the house smells wonderful and the children love to help ready the apples and of course eating their creation.

    I'm pretty sure it is natural food, unlike mostly everything else we eat. It tends to come from farmers markets and the like. It's something for them to make with all the extra apples (or peaches, etc.).

    If you want to rip on American food, go over to one of the cheese steak threads where someone says to get "whiz" on their steak - now that is one fake food item.

    im from Greece and thats why im xxl size..of the good food!!!and diet isnt my specialty.. :lol:

    Its called butter because its thick. Peanut butter is butter free also. Those colonials weren't very inventive with their vocabulary i guess.
