Why is there a "padlock" denoting a secure transaction when I go to order history first, then go to goods and buy something, but not there if I go to goods directly?

because your order history is secure, so they connect you to the secure site to see that

I'm just concerned that the padlock wasn't present when I placed an order. If you go directly to the "goods" section, there is no padlock.

Yea, that is strange and a bit unnerving. It doesn't switch to an https connection even on the cc info screen. Good catch. Someone at 10c should definitely look into this...

Nope, not the browser. Does the same thing at work (Internet Explorer) or home (Safari). Unless I go to order history first, no padlock.

From a different thread on a similar topic, referring to the fact that we're not taken to a secure server when we click the BUY button in the goods section:

Has this ever been addressed? I just renewed my membership (and bought some boots - couldn't help it) and it definitely said it wasn't a secure site, even on the page where I entered my credit card number. I tried a couple of different browsers with no luck. And the link someone posted above is dead. I don't feel really good about buying stuff online with a credit card through an site that's not secure. :?

I noticed too and emailed 10c....this is their reply:

When you go to the Goods section via http://pearljam.com or http://tenclub.net you won't see the https because the shop itself is inside a frame, and so you will always see http://pearljam.com/goods in the address bar.

    The real address is https://secure.pearljam.com/store/

So if you want to see the https simply right-click on a link in the good section and select "open in new window/tab".

    Order away! :D

Thanks - that's good to know! Kind of strange though. :?

but we're still "secure" even if we bought when the "padlock" wasn't showing, correct?
