Glad I peeked into the CCFA Team Challenge sticky! What a nice surprise...he'll be at the San Antonio Rock and Roll Half Marathon in November...I immediately considered running, until my friend told me how many miles are actually involved...so I'll give a little donation instead! :) Come on over Mikey!!

Mike doesn't somehow count for more than 1/5th? ;)

He should, the way he's been sort of the spokesperson for the band the last few years.

I think I may try to run it. It is a pretty penny ($80) to do the half marathon. But you get the goodie bags, tshirt, and entry to the concert afterwards (no acts announced yet). Some decent acts in the past, but this is SA's inaugural race, so we'll see. There's a band every mile on the course and a show at the Alamodome later.

I don't think I can pass up the chance to bother McCready for 13.1 miles (how annoying could a tenclubber be jogging along side one of the boys???). That would be awesome. :)

But, I started "training" yesterday. I've been a jogger for years, but never more than 4 or 5 miles. Should be quite a challenge. Especially while looking for the blonde lettuce of McCready. Strange coincidence-he shares my son's bday and that was the date they played here in 03.

Oh, and I accosted a Pearl Jam fan wearin the green Gorge tee last night at HEB. You don't see many PJ shirts around these parts, much less Gorge ones. Had to ask him if he was at the show, yada, yada. Apparently, his buddy took him to the Gorge to show him the venue, not necessarily to see PJ. WTF?!? His strongest recollection was of the Tom Petty hijinks, not actual show. LAME.

Whew, went off there for a minute, sorry. Just woke up.

Read it closer. I thought he was going to SA when I first read it too. But later (on the website I think) he talks about participating in the Northwest. Apparently there are small groups participating all over the country in different areas.

I'm hoping I read it wrong, and that you're right, cause I will be there if he is there. But I believe he's staying in the Northwest. Check it out and let me know if I misread.

McCready is an 'honored teammate' for CCFA's Team Challenge program, and you can help support the him and the rest of the team. On November 16th, a group of Northwest runners and walkers will join 13 other chapters from across the country and take part in the San Antonio Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon in a collective effort to raise money and awareness for Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Earlier this year Team Challenge raised more than $2,000,000 nationally for the foundation at the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon .

I'm not sure. Guess the wording is a little vague. "Honored teammate?" BUT, says they will be taking part in the race. Don't know if he's just drumming up donations, or participating. Hmmm...
Any one with a clue? Cause I have none.

Guess I read the "Napa to Sonoma" in the wrong context. Like you, I don't know if he runs or is just drumming up donations.

I am gonna hold on to hope that he'll be here. "Honored" could say "honorary." If that was the case, I'd think no appearance, but...

Maybe Kat or Sea could elaborate as to whether Mike is going to be in San Antonio or not???

Still no official word? I wish I knew if he was really gonna be there. Thinking about running anyway, but...

I read Kat/Seas News post again and the more I consider it, the more I think the "honored member" adjective means that he is not going to be there. You know, like someone who gets an honorary degree from a college but didn't take any classes? I hope I'm wrong.

Any word guys? My girlfriend is paying my registration fee, so I am running the half-marathon regardless. But c'mon. Is he gonna show, or just raise funds vicariously? For the record, The Cult is headlining the show afterward. Interesting. I am not a big fan, but the are legendary.
