I knew this was the next single but should it be on a cheesy mixed genre station in Salt Lake? I was just really surprised has anyone else heard this on the radio?

Yes, yesterday, over here in Germany on a rock/indie/alternative station, just 24 hours ago. Introduced as PJs new single

I heard it at 7 a.m. Monday on KROQ in Los Angeles.

What I'm about to say will be logically inconsistent, but I'll say it anyway. I love "Just Breathe." It may be my favorite song on the album. But hearing it on the radio, it sounded somehow diminished. When I heard "Amongst The Waves" on the radio last week, on the other hand, rather than the song sounding diminished, radio sounded improved. People will cringe at this comparison-- though I mean it in a good way-- but hearing "Just Breathe" on the radio, it sounds like it could be the next "Hey There Delilah."
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

I know exactly what you mean - thats what I thought, too! "Just Breathe" is no song for the RADIO, it's a song for intimate moments. "Amongst The Waves" makes you turn up the radio, "Just Breathe" makes you (me) turn it of 'cause it's not the right moment, the right place to listen to this. It's a song you have to CHOOSE to hear, not to be suprised by it.

I think it is kind of a cheesy song at times, not that there is anything wrong with that, but let's face it "Did I say that I need you, did I say that I want you?" has been sung a few times before in a pop song or two.
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win ."

"With our thoughts we make the world"
  • I've already heard it on KROQ in Los Angeles about 4-5x's since Saturday. The two DJs who played it seemed to love it.
  • yep heard it on KROQ last week and i was really surprised. I also heard Amongst the Waves on the radio..so if Just Breathe is the next single why are some stations playing ATW? just curious..i love both songs btw!
    "We're heavily Hemingway inspired." -ed
  • This song will probably show up on Grey's Anatomy or something. you know, for one of those Meredith-narrated introspective end of the episode montages... just a hunch.

I just hope KROQ doesn't kill this song for me like they did with "Last Kiss" :|
